Internet sucks
Just one question how come my cell phone service provider allows me to stream a live game or a movie without any trouble but my 90 .00 dollar a month hughsnet sat link connection is horrible . Can't even watch any program without it buffering nonstop How is this possible ? I feel like I'm being scammed

Please keep in mind that this is satellite internet, and it is largely used by customers who do not have access to cable-based or DSL ISPs. Hughesnet does not compare to cable or cell phone services. This is due to latency. Latency refers to the amount of time it takes a packet of data to travel across a network. With satellite service, that data must travel up to the satellite and back (about 45,000 miles). This does create a greater delay that is not present with common terrestrial-based providers. In normal cable-based or cell tower services, the signal is ground-based which makes these types of services feel faster.
