Why can't I get new router?

I've been a Customer for many years. For the first couple years Hughesnet was great. But over the recent couple years I continue to fight to get good service.  My upload and download are sketchy at best. Signal dropping out, then starting again. Tech support tells me my connection is OK, but it is no where close to what is advertised. Every time I call tech support it's the same thing, change frequency,  which will only give me a slight improvement.

I asked for a new router and was told no. I asked if I could provide my own, was told no.

Has anyone else had issues like this? And how did you solve the problem?

  • Hello Vicki63,

Thank you for posting and welcome to the community. I am sorry to hear you have experienced this. It sounds like a new router isn't being provided due this being a range issue. A new router wouldn't fix something like this as distance is the main determining factor. Our WIFI booster will be a much better option as this specifically remedies the range issue. If there are other issues with the system, I can double check by running remote diagnostics. If you would like me to do that please let me know.  -Damian
