Yea, that nonsense statement always seems to be in there.

Bottom line, never click on a link that asks you to update CC info. And thanks Liz, have a great weekend.

Re: Beware of the Latest Phishing Scam

One of the tricks most email providers have now is the ability to see where the email actually arrived from. Hovering or clicking on the email address will show some funny email addresses that are in no way associated with who the email is supposedly from.

Re: Beware of the Latest Phishing Scam

Thank you Liz for posting this. Smiley Happy  It makes me wonder why these thieves are still trying this kind of thing though.  It kinda rates right up there with the nigerian scams and the Microscammer calls.  SMH!

Yup, and its sad, this stuff has been all over in the news and people still fall for these scams.  I guess people just don't bother to read the news or listen anymore!

Re: Beware of the Latest Phishing Scam

The latest one is the IRS scam. Can you imagine being smart enough to own three business' and falling for that? Well, some woman did. She burst out crying and said she was pregnant and couldn't afford to be in trouble with the IRS. The scammer on the other side of the phone, said you're pregnant? Never mind, this call is a scam and hung up.

Re: Beware of the Latest Phishing Scam

I read that! Most of those calls are coming from India and Pakistan.  I volunteer time on one of the caller complaint sites so stay up with these.  The other one they use is a fakeroo government grant.  I've seen all three crop up under the same number, just go from one to the other.   Yesterday saw shills for the IRS scam.  Its twoo, its twoo.. NOT!   They even registered so they could mark down the people saying scam and the regulars who provide the information on how to report it..  What they didn't count on, was about 40 plus regulars!  So they didn't get away with that at all.
