For HughesNet Customers Impacted By Hurricane Matthew...

First, here at Hughes we would like to say that we hope everyone in the path of the hurricane is safe. Being a provider to mostly rural customers, we see many types of disasters come through the line - from floods to wild fires, even powerful dust storms.

With Hurricane Matthew comes flooding, destructive winds and power outages. Any or all three can knock out your HughesNet dish, permanently destroy it or in some cases - sweep it away completely. This is why we want the last thing on your mind worrying you is how you will get back online to contact loved ones, or what you will do with the service while you rebuild your home.

HughesNet offers many different ways to help customers out in all types of situations and hope that when you can reach out to us, it is a simple process. A storm like Hurricane Matthew requires preparation in advance and it is always good to have a game plan for what might come after. That is why I've made a quick list of things to consider when contacting HughesNet, depending on your situation.

  • Do you have power at the service location?
  • Can a technician reach you? (Are the roads blocked by power lines, trees, debris?)
  • When do you want your services restored?
  • Will you be able to continue your service at the same address?
  • What (if any) equipment is damaged, lost or not salvageable?
  • Is your HughesNet equipment covered by your Home Owners insurance?

Our phone lines are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Our residential customer care number is 1-866-347-3292. Business customers please call 1-866-347-3272.

If you have any concerns about your HughesNet service unrelated to Hurricane Matthew, please feel free to create a new post.

Thank you,

Katie, Liz, Chris, Amanda & Miles
