There sure are some obsessive people out there, but I suppose it's like any "hobby" that someone really enjoys. We only live once, so more power to them.
I'm not a dedicated Blu-Ray hunter but I do have a pretty large collection of Blu-Rays. Most of them I purchased during Black Friday or found in various discount bins. Almost all of them come with a digital copy as well so it's a win-win.
