75GB Data used in 2 days, how is this even possible?

Our plan renewed on 11/3 we have 50GB plan... Noticed we are completely out of data and only have 25GB left on our bonus, went to look at usage and 75GB of our data was ate up on 11/4, 5 and 6th... what is going on?  I sent an email about this but did not get any replies.  If you look at our usage you can plainly see this is NOT normal for us.  No kids here just us old folks.  🙂  The last time this happened we received a new modem.  Please advise.

WOW!!!  That's a LOT of data.

Do you have a satellite TV receiver connected to the service?  If you have Windows 10, do you have the option "Updates From More Than One Place" turned off?  Your router is secure, right?

It might be a good idea to install Glasswire on your Windows based computers to monitor the data usage on them.  It can tell you what, specifically, uses the data on the computer it's installed on.  It's here... https://www.glasswire.com/.  It's free.  It can't tell you anything about what's already happened, but it can help if there are future data usage problems on the computer.

Unfortunately, the Reps won't be back until Monday to give you any official input.  There are others on here that are VERY knowledgeable, though.  Hopefully they can help.  That's certainly a ton of data to go through.

That is an obscene amount of data. It is possible. Here's one way it can happen. Open 10 tabs with DHL International tracking running in each tab. You will burn 25 GB a day.

FYI: Mine rolled over 11/4 and I've used 693 MB regular and 141 MB bonus

You use even less than I do and I thought I was the numero uno data miser.  LOL.

Computers are largely for work. The less data I use the more successful I am because I did less work 🙂

Good morning daskins,

Welcome and thanks for posting. Gabe has some good ideas to consider. There can be many factors to consider when determining what uses your data. We cannot tell what used data in a timeframe, which is why we suggest that moving forward, you get GlassWire. This third-party program will show you every process on your computer that connects to the internet.

I've sent you free tokens to get out of the Fair Access Policy so you may download GlassWire and start learning how to use it to your advantage. Our community members here have experience with it, so feel free to ask them for tips.

Thanks,
Liz

Thank you Liz... not sure what is going on but I do appreciate your help.  I did download and install GlassWire a couple of days ago but the spike usage has not happened since.  Very odd.  🙂
