A few places to watch the launch live

I always believe in alternatives as in eggs not in one basket. Hopefully one of these will work for everyone.

Please allow everyone to watch who wants to and if an option for video definition is given then set it to SD (360p) or lower. Lower definition means more people can watch without overloading the bandwidth on the satellite/gateways and less or no buffering.

Back when satellite tv was "free", I enjoyed watching launches on the NASA channel.

Whew boy, 220Gbit/s with 138 user beams and 22 gateway beams...

Granted, this wont be much of a relief for people under the Gen4 system, anyone that's not under Gen4 will see one heck of an upgrade in their future.

If rumors are true it will be used mainly to cover what only Spaceway does now. Like you say, probably won't have much impact if any on existing Jupiter 1 customers. Maybe there will be some plan adjustments, guess we'll see.

Biggest negative impact for everyone will be if they don't have the ground side up to speed and play catch up. Hopefully that won't be the case.

Wow, Alaska! Those folks will be happy. Many living in pretty remote locations. Would hate to be the installers though. Probably a lot of small airplane time.

Everything kind of hinges on that little aspect doesn't it? 🙂

Hopefully tomorrow will be a good day for everyone concerned.

I really don't see any unless Hughes is making it possible for quick and simple Gen4 repoints toward Jupiter 2 to take pressure off Jupiter 1. Otherwise, we will wait for natural attrition to run it's course. Hopefully they'll immediately stop selling space on my horribly miserable beam 55.

Hopefully I can watch this. I really should work on removing last nights 9" of snow. The snow must have slid off the Hughes dish as my sig jumped from 83 to 110. You have to love Rain-X

Yuck, had our fill of snow when stationed in Nebraska and also living in Iowa. Why we moved south years ago. Most we normally get here is a few inches at a time although that can still be very dangerous on winding mountain roads.

Tune in now to see it.

Oops. On hold now.

Well, that sucks. Hope it doesn't lead to scrubbing the launch. Better safe than sorry though. 😞
