Apple Ceases Development of 'AirPort' Wireless Routers

Monday November 21, 2016 5:47 am PST by Mitchel Broussard
Apple has dissolved its division which develops wireless routers and is now sending engineers who worked on the AirPort lineup into other product teams, including one currently working on Apple TV. The news comes from a report by Bloomberg, who said Apple has been slowly shutting down the division over the past year and made the decision "to try to sharpen the company’s focus on consumer products that generate the bulk of its revenue."

Finally, these things didn't really play nice with our DNS servers and we had to actually build an entire software update to make it less annoying for users who owned these.

But, I guess at least as long as they are not bursting into flames.

"Do you happen to be familiar with this gadget?"

No, I don't.

It really doesn't give much info under "specs".

There is more to extending wireless range than meets the eye. Having said that I would be more inclined to stick to the "Big Name" router manufacturers when considering range extenders. A "router" can be added to a Router with the first one tasked with firewall and DHCP duties and the second router connected as an access point .. now that would spread wireless range.
