I was told in a recent call that there was a beam issue which was causing my service to be less than optimal. Whats's new. I was told that i would be recieving the sub optimal speed at no charge until the issue was resolved. I was told my account would be suspended but I would continue to recieve the service until it was up and running optimally, at which time I'd be paying again. I reached back out when no service was available and was told my a call center employee he had no idea about the beam issue was restarted my service. I coulnd't be more dissapointed with the service as a whole. I've spent probably 5 hours of time on the phone resolving issues. I was sold a router by a HughesNet hired third party installer that I did not need. Actively looking for alternate service. Even posting this is proving to be an issue.
If your account goes into suspension, then your service is deactivated, not sure why the phone rep would say the opposite, and Hughesnet wont give service for free. Though, they may offer discounts for problematic service on beams that are having issues, that is on a case by case basis. Do you happen to know your Beam ID?
Off the top of my head, the most problematic beams as of late are, 005, 055, 068.
I am also on Beam 5. I am so disgusted to learn that MANY beams are having the same issues - over a very long period of time. I also have learned, from reading this forum that MANY people have been given the same stupid responses by support during the search for improvement. I went from GEN 4 (since 2009) to GEN 5 on November 6. When installed and setup the speed was great. 1/2 hour after the installation tech left it began what has become the norm - alternating between great speed and ridiculous, less than dial-up speed. I have wasted HOURS of conversation with support. I have had 2 additional tech support visits. NO RESOLUTION! Beam 5 cannot maintain a good connection for more than 20 minutes. I have a business and have always used GEN 4 with good results. GEN 5 is useless. I have subscription software with Adobe that will not work, my Adobe Acrobat will not work, my onboard email will not work and receives or sends only occassionally, my WordPress backend admin often will not load, some URL's take up to 50 seconds to load and some only load text or misaligned pages. This is intolerable service and I asked to be put back on GEN 4 they refused. I asked to be moved to another satellite they refused. So, no resolution - and I am told 4-6 months for a POSSIBLE fix. After reading all these forum reports I am wondering if that will even be possible! If anyone has information about Beam 5, please post. Hopeful, Swissvalleygal
