Can’t move router

Tried to move router to different part of house so we could rearrange furniture. Every connection would not work. The only spot that works is where we have it now. Shouldn’t this have been taken care of at installation?

What do you mean every connection would not work?  You must leave your HT2000w conncted to the cable that goes to your outside dish.  Using ANY other pre-existing coaxial cable in your house could cause damage if they are part of land based cable service.

The only way to "move" your modem, is to make sure you have enough cable available, and actually move the cable to another part of the house with the HT2000w.

The HT2000w is not like a cable box, or cable modem, requires a very specific signal on the coax.

That is a horrible hardware model. So if you EVER want to move your furniture around or remodel you are stuck with that location unless you track the line and move it yourself to another spot the existing cable will reach.

This happens with cable internet routers as well (and also with things like DirecTV boxes). It's not just a HughesNet thing; in the case of the routers it's  because they're connected to equipment outside.
