Considering Hughes Net as an ISP?

Aside from the incredible pervasive ignorance of their general staff, it is now apparent HughesNet does not even communicate well between departments!! In attempting to cancel the most lamentable excuse for a “service” in my lifetime, the incessant arguments and endless excuses has finally come to an end!  Amanda, one of the elite staffers I am told, offered me the option of cancelling my atrocious service, waiving any fees or return of equipment. After 2 hours and 43 minutes of attempting to communicate with a string of employees having the cumulative IQ of a line of fence posts, I think I’m finally done with this miserable assemblage of incompetents, save the pending regulatory agency complaints in process.

If considering this company as an ISP, go for intensive therapy first. HughesNet insists you work for them more than they work for you! Their expensive service, when functional, is marginal at best and when you call to attempt to address a service issue, too bad. They have NO solutions, other than testing! Testing done on your time and at the expense of your meager data allowance. They then send you to this “place”, envisioned to be in the bowels of some medieval dungeon, where interminable trolls lurk in the shadows, telling you how insanely happy they are with their service and if you were just smarter, had an IT degree or used to drive spaceships, you’d really like HughesNet! What a stellar group of egotistical, technical “wizards" are herein encountered.

BUYER BEWARE!!!!!
These are dishonest, unethical and deceitful people, employed by a devious and dishonorable company. Pradman Kaul could learn much from an honest businessman. My attempt at doing business with HughesNet has given me a much greater appreciation for companies who actually CARE about customer satisfaction and are staffed with individuals having a command of the English language. HughesNet is only about customer volume. How deep can they put their hands into your pocket?

Oh darn, I’m so sorry GW. Most folks outgrow stuttering as they go into puberty. Don’t weaken though, intensive therapy helps in advanced cases.

Red and Black Angus.....

For as much as it pains me, trucks are coming across the cattle guard, followed by the brand inspector. I must “tear” myself away from this abuse for awhile. Have a delightful day.

And there he goes.  The inimitable Mister Hobbs heads off into the sunset to punch some cattle. The inimitable Mister Hobbs, truly a legend in his own mind.

Pretty good duty, most of the time! Does have its moments of disappointment but all-in-all, its a good life. Much simpler before computers and aggravating things like “internet” but we’re coming along. You guys ought to develop a sense of humor.... I sure get a kick out of how seriously you regard yourselves.

Now that's funny right there for someone with no sense of humor!

mdhobbs,

I don't agree with everything you've written, but in my experience most of what you've written is true.

Best, Curtis

Angus, red and black have a superior feed conversion, equating to less time in the commercial feed yards and they likewise are genetically superior to most other breeds in marbling ability. They are also known for lighter birth weights, equating to fewer calving problems for first time mothers and high vigor after being born. Herefords are likewise a desirable breed and genetic improvement is elevating their desirability.

Now Reggie, I am not qualified to say if you were suckered into a joke or not. If so, it was not my intention or creation. I am not certain what you are referencing?

Hello Curtis,
I would not expect anyone to agree with everything I’ve penned and I will confess to injecting a bit more “drama” into some than requisite to get the point across. I know HughesNet is not as professional an organization as it could be and it certainly markets a confusing array of plans and programs.

I wish you the best as well,

I raise beef for my use. Not at the scale you seem to be doing. At what age do you send to butcher or stock yard?

I normally go to slaughter at 1200 to 1300 pounds, rather than a specific age. Our calves typically wean at 600 to 625 pounds at roughly 6 months of age and will go into a commercial feed yard at 800 pounds.

While I am biased toward Angus, the Herefords are making exceptional gains in conversions and yields. There is even a new breed, the Black Hereford, that is getting rave reviews from the packers. He looks very much like a Hereford-Angus cross, typically having a black hide and white face.

For our cattle in the southeast portion of the country, Georgia and Florida, we need a bit of Brahman influence for heat and parasite resistance qualities.

I keep mine about 2 years because they don't grow good in the winter in the southern tier of NYS.

What is your normal winter ration? Intake will normally decline dramatically during winter months as a function of colder temperatures and wetter weather. Keeping energy levels elevated will make a remarkable difference in intake, resulting in a shorter finishing time.

If you have access to DDG (dried distillers grain, the by product of beer or whiskey making) it is an awesomely good feed in harsh winter climates and is normally given away by the distillers. It contains significant fat, for energy and high levels of protein. We are enjoying the number of micro-breweries starting up around the country as they have a lot of DDG to dispose of.

Would be interesting to know if and how many micro-breweries exist in your area. I have some bull customers in the Syracuse-Montezuma areas of New York that also use DDG for their on-site fattened cattle. Their average daily gain through the winter months is in excess of 2.5 pounds per day. Another customer, at Savannah Dhu, uses DDG to supplement his high-fence, Whitetail and Axis deer herd through the winter, with amazingly good results.

Enjoy the evening!

I,m not sure the feed store mixes it. They say it is their winter mix for cattle. Thank you for the info.
