I still can't complete a TestMy.net Manual Upload Test with the 12MB file.
This is a test using the 256kb again......

Re: Continued, unresolved upload issues (1 year and counting). Upload speeds of 30kbps. NO SUPPORT FROM HUGHESNET! I'm tired.

Hi Amanda.  I've already tried 2 separate ethernet cables.  One supplied by HughesNet with the modem and the other a high quality Cat6 cable purchased online.

Regarding the email.  That note should be one of many related to outgoing emails.  If you wait long enough and keep trying to send data out you'll eventually catch it at just the right time that data packets can get through quick enough to get the emails out.  Remember, these issues have been tested and confirmed with desktops, laptops, and mobile devices, all using different email clients and software applications.  Through a router and also directly connected to the modem.  The upload issues are recreated every time no matter the setup.

Here's a fresh Manual Download Test.  Looks good.
I STILL cannot complete an upload test.  I changed ethernet cables again Amanda just to be sure.

OK, I'm now thinking 1. bad modem, or 2. bad radio.

Thanks Alan.  I just ran another test..... ouch.

Re: Continued, unresolved upload issues (1 year and counting). Upload speeds of 30kbps. NO SUPPORT FROM HUGHESNET! I'm tired.

Hi Alan & Bonnie

The diagnostics otherwise came back fine, no reason to suspect the modem or radio are faulty. Signal strength is very strong and the connections all look healthy. Keep in mind when you select a low size file to test on testmy.net, the test does not have enough time to measure speeds and will provide an inaccurate reading. Give it a try with a 6MB test instead.

Here are the Hughes to Modem tests from our end
Speed test results for SAN - DSS3030xxxx

Execution time: 2016-04-12 19:23:46
Upload speed (kb/sec): 816.012
Download speed (kb/sec): 18255.154
Round trip ping time (msec): 614
Packet loss rate (%): 0

That note should be one of many related to outgoing emails.  If you wait long enough and keep trying to send data out you'll eventually catch it at just the right time that data packets....

I don't think I have ever heard of that... So you are saying only every now and then you can send an email out via G-mails website? We're putting aside 3rd party software at this point.

Thanks

Re: Continued, unresolved upload issues (1 year and counting). Upload speeds of 30kbps. NO SUPPORT FROM HUGHESNET! I'm tired.

Amanda, I have used a network monitoring application on multiple devices to analyze outbound data.  The outbound traffic "pulsates" for a lack of the proper term.  There are brief moments when the connection is just strong enough to throughput data before the connection times out with servers.  This isn't just email.  I use multiple cloud applications and I can't upload small 50kb PDF files.  Same results no matter the device.  I do NOT believe this to be a 3rd Party Software issue.  I'm connecting directly to HughesNet's modem.  You see all the TestMy.net results above.  Its not just email software problems.  I can't get a test to complete at 6MB or 12MB or anything like that.  The upload connection is that terrible.  The only test it can complete is the "Upload Express" test which is the 256k File Size.

Re: Continued, unresolved upload issues (1 year and counting). Upload speeds of 30kbps. NO SUPPORT FROM HUGHESNET! I'm tired.

With upload speeds of the following (most recent test)...

:::.. Upload Speed Test Result Details ..:::Upload Connection Speed:: 62 Kbps or 0.1 Mbps
Upload Speed Test Size:: 256 kB or 262144 bytes

You can understand that the MB files are too large to test at these connection speeds.
62kbps on a 256k file is terrible and those results are consistent across all devices and this problem has been ongoing.

Something is wrong and it's not software i use.

Re: Continued, unresolved upload issues (1 year and counting). Upload speeds of 30kbps. NO SUPPORT FROM HUGHESNET! I'm tired.

For the record i spent a long time on the phone yesterday in the middle of my workday talking to customer care and the rep finally said the case was being escalated to management or to a engineering tier of customer service.  I was told I would be hearing back from management "very soon".  I've still yet to get a call.  I came onto this community forum today out of desperation.  Again I've spent almost all of my workday on this. It seems like the HughesNet team doesn't think there is a problem.  Trust me, I've second-guessed myself and taken measures to be SURE that there is an issue that can be consistently recreated.  I'm no computer engineer but I've gone through all the motions and I'm fairly certain there is no problem on the user-end past the modem.

bonniewindle, not that doing this specific thing alone will help with your speed issue, but could you set up and account at testmy.net and run the tests under that account?  It makes it easier to track the tests and the aspects of said tests so either a rep, or someone else on here, may be able to more easily assess just what is going on.

When you post the URL of your tests, like I have done below with mine, it doesn't post any personal info or anything like that.  It just shows the tests and allows aspects of individual tests to be looked at, as well as the overall pattern.  It's just something that makes it easier to help.
