Recently acquired Gen5 and installer set it. I do not connect, but I am on the internet at start-up. No manual way to connect like I had in Gen4--choice of connecting or not connecting while using my computer. Tried everything, looked everywhere for solution. The boxes for for this 'automatic' under connection properties --are unchecked. Still there is no way to shut off this internet connection, and connect when I want to. I must shutdown my computer or turn off the modem. Is something in 'Homegroup' or 'Workgroup' areas causing this?
Is Gen5 meant to eat precious data anytime I am using my computer?
Wife has a desktop connection also. Have Win7. Thanks

IF your computer is a wireless to the modem or your router then:
In the lower right hand corner of screen there should be an icon of stacked bars. This is your wireless connect. Click this, you should see H2g etc and be given the opportunity to
Disconnect. Data usage only happens via internet. If windows update is set to auto, there is data usage behind the scenes. Also, if you have any auto backup software like Carbonite,
there will be usage there also.
