I am very happy to report I took away 10 new customers from you. I do not want anybody to go through what I am going through. I was always told, to get someone back, hit them in the pocket book. Hughes net 1, Chasity 10. I will give you another update when I get 10 More. Have a great Day!

Chasity what internet provider are you referring people to? Cause HughesNet sucks. I don't watch movies on my iPad. Sometimes I will watch something little on YouTube. But mostly I am on FB browsing around or I go to certain sites like Amazon, QVC, and a couple other little sites. But I never watch movies on my iPad. I always run out of data within 3 days and can't figure out why.. I don't use but a little over 2gb on my iPhone and I am on it more than my iPad. No I don't have it connected to wifi on HighesNet. I also was promised I would never run out of data. First month was good now it sucks. I was trying to get on YouTube last night just to look at a couple videos about my new iPhone and the YouTube video wouldn't even pull up. I feel I am just throwing money away on something I can not use. So please tell me when you say "you took 10 more customers from Hughes net" who did you refer them to, I would like to be the 11th Hughes net customer you got to leave hughesnet.

Hello MD Hobbs I sure will let you know of a good alternative once I find one. I was guaranteed and promised I would not run out of data. That was only good for the first month. But as each month goes by it is getting worse. I am at the point that I have to connect to my neighbors wifi cause mine is so bad. I pay almost $80 a month for Hughes Net and also pay my neighbor $20 a month so I can connect to hers when I am outside. I bought 2 wifi internet boosters to see if that will help any. They will be here tomorrow. I will let you know how that works also

Wow, you've gone and removed all doubt. Amazing.  I've referred hundreds of people to HN, all doing very well and enjoying fast speed access in rural areas.

MD., please forgive me if you've said this already, but do you have any access to the Internet via Verizon, AT&T, etc?  (I only get Verizon and it's not very reliable in my area).

No, not to you, not at all!

I don't get fiberoptic either, or DSL, or cable. I do get Verizon, but the data part is kinda spotty,

There is some pretty bad DSL out there. Very bad speed and in/out service especially when it rains with old copper lines. It generally is unlimited though and much lower latency.

I could switch to AT&T 4G hotspot tomorrow but speed is more up and down than my satellite internet. And the cost is way higher. They also throttle after a certain amount.

I've heard very bad reviews about DSL too.

@ Jezra: Not taking customers away in any way, imo. For each customer "taken away" dozens or more subscribe and have no problems.  And yes, we are HN customers because the other options are pretty dismal.  Gen4 works very well for me, way better than the product before (Gen3?? No idea what it was called), and even that, with all its problems, was quite superior to the alternatives.

I don't even have 4G where I live. I have to drive a mile or so up the road to hit 4G. LOL.

Is there a badge for that?

What did you do with them? Bury them in your back yard?

"What did you do with them? Bury them in your back yard?"

"Is there a badge for that?"

The red badge of pointlessness.

The best way to "get" Hughesnet is to own a controlling interest in EchoStar (NASDAQ: SATS) -- then you can totally make policy. Shares are currently going for around $50 a pop.  Putnam Investments LLC owns over 12 million shares. They're the people to beat.  I say go for it.

This topic reeks of a desire for revenge/retribution.

It is important that all users and potential users have at least a general understanding of what a satellite connection is ... and just as importantly isn't.

A satellite internet connection is a connection type of last resort.

It isn't comparable to ground based ISP's

It has very real data and performance limits and for very good reasons.

If satellite internet is your only option then a user has to learn how to get the most from it.

Al the complaining in the world is not going to magically turn a satellite connection into cable or DSL.
