HT1100 DHCP on my router

My wireless router is logging DHCP requests on its WAN port from the HT1100.  This is unnecessary traffic because my router answers with DHCP LAN information to the HT1100.  Is there a fix for this issue?

That is normal if you have the router set as the DHCP server. What do you mean by unnecessary traffic? DHCP requests are necessary for normal network internet traffic.

You can turn off DHCP on your router but then the modem will be the server and your device limit will be 5 including the router itself.

Hi chuckr47

How often do you have your router set to ping the modem? Since our IP addresses change very often, 2 minutes is generally what we recommend for frequency.

Thanks,
