Has anyone tried the Ooma phone modem between Hughes modem and router?
Though this may be a dumb question, I have to ask because am exploring business phone options at a farm in very rural area. I also realize the Ooma tech may be in direct competition with Hughes Voice -- but maybe different because it seems to be cloud based?

I think they're both cloud based.
Difference is that HN optimizes the data traffic used by HN Voice (Quality of Service) but not other VoIP solutions. Also, they don't deduct data use for HN Voice from your monthly allowance and it will continue to work normally, even if you've used up all your data and your system has been throttled.
