Has anyone tried the Ooma phone modem between Hughes modem and router?

Has anyone tried the Ooma phone modem between Hughes modem and router?

Though this may be a dumb question, I have to ask because am exploring business phone options at a farm in very rural area. I also realize the Ooma tech may be in direct competition with Hughes Voice -- but maybe different because it seems to be cloud based?

Any phone other than Hughes Voice will use your data allowance and will possibly not work well because of the latency with a satellite system

I think they're both cloud based.

Difference is that HN optimizes the data traffic used by HN Voice (Quality of Service) but not other VoIP solutions. Also, they don't deduct data use for HN Voice from your monthly allowance and it will continue to work normally, even if you've used up all your data  and your system has been throttled.

Thank you Mord and Alan. The data allowance would be a significant (and uncontrolled) issue.
