Hughes Net should have a complaints Category & the Hater posts can go to its proper category

Not a single Hater post has any kind of substantial helpfulness to me at all. It causes me to go through page after page of complaints that are not complaints at all. they are blaming the satellite company.
Howard Hughes invented satellites and "Networking" They had voice and computer networking going on from El Segundo to Orville California in the 70's. My Grandfather was an Executive VP & Computer Scientist. Not only did they communicate daily via VOIP, Computer, and Satellite Networking but they socialized and networked with the satellite itself on an old ass Tandy computer that was electrocuted by lightning. When he upgraded to an Apple , Hughes's satellite refused to communicate with the apple. For years they fought with a satellite that had a mind of its own. & tried killing it with the apple computers own code.  To this day nobody knows for sure if grandpa and Hughes communicated to the Apple this way, or if the Satellite itself did. But the satellite having a life of its own was the story they stuck to, and anti virus was soon realized. The satellite ( I named him George) had no trouble with a brand new IBM and loved its new tandy friend. so grandpa had 2 networking computers but all the data he stored on his apple was turned to jibberish. This satellite. Not for sure, but I swear George is still out there with its primeval solar power and virtual intelligence that doesn't like Apple computers and tries to re-code them. My Grandpa said, before he died that George would be around longer than my great grand kids. Only the old guys of Hughes Aircraft that were the scientists who are the original creators of satellites, moon rovers, fighter jets, and networking (this is only the tip of the iceberg) while making distance from myself to China as if we are right next door.

All everyone does is complain. Think? how many miles your "slow internet connection" has to travel before you can communicate with your friend in China?  It isn't an app that made it possible. The app and the internet are nonexistent without satellite tech that came 1st and is still way ahead of its time. Knowing what I know from my Grandpa it cannot be hughes.net's problem every other time.
Our electronic tech is still maybe 100+ years behind what Hughes satellites are capable of.  As if instantaneous isn't fast enough.  please we are all to scared of computers taking over the world and believe me it is so very possible via satellite, lagging electronics, and Hughes being so far ahead of his time.  This man is a genius and did have time travel.  Your sitting at home right now traveling to China instantaneously but only because of your Facebook App? YooHoo's.

If I was the Hughes rep I would be stressed out too. Everybody hating, complaining, & blaming. Since when does blaming the other guy resolve anything.  I'd be pissed off too. Hating customers cause a high turnover rate. Meaning you are now getting new people, having to gain experience as a rep, & everyone complaining all the time to Hughes.net employees.  They have a job to do, maybe we should remember it is not their fault they are only trying to help.

Let me remind all you people and inform all the rest Hughes.net is a division of a Hughes Aircraft Company founded by Howard Hughes in the 30's - the millionaire who took his love of flying to all new achievements he turned his hobby into satellites, put  men on the moon, retired space shuttles, built B-2 bombers and Raptors and Russian MIGS, helped all of us achieve time travel via electronic communications, built satellites, dabbled in lasers, took part in the Philadelphia Experiment, built and tested nukes, perfected stealth and a million other technologies, and found the perfect pavement for airplanes to land and the dawn of the industrial age boomed with metropolitan areas constructing Airports because Howard Hughes was a picky back seat driver and hated landings except his own.  Are just a few of his achievements before most of us were born. And Hughes.net is a subcontractor of the US government and I am pretty sure in this 2016 world their networking, satellites, and communications are way more important to national security than our Facebook. They know their stuff otherwise they wouldn't be offering us this communication opportunity without consent from our Government.  Something they been doing together for most of our lives.

Howard Hughes won't have a Complaint section only a suggestion box so it is only a suggestion to weed out the hate mail so we don't have to deal with it.  I bet these same haters are totally against pornography.
Well that is how I see their hater comments lude, vulgar, rude, gross and disgusting.

Well when you don't get adequate service and 2 weeks into the month you have maxed out your allowed data-15GB- there is something wrong. I would check my meter and usage and it would be using Internet at wee hours of the morning when I was sleeping. There are so many complaints because they are a terrible service provider with below average product. Even their website is outdated.

Lude? I think you meant lewd. The history of a company doesn't matter when the day to day operation is below par. If you look at all the comments they have a single thread..."we were lied to". When one expects a certain level of operation and gets something entirely different, it is their right to complain. The complaints are already labeled "problem"; therefore, you can tell the "haters" and avoid them. Your description of legitimate complaints is unbelievable. In this country, at the moment, we have freedom of speech. The first amendment protects that.

There are a number of aspects to two-way satellite communication that many users either gloss over during a sales call, underestimate the extent of or just totally don't understand.

We have seen complaints from users that upon being told the weather in their gateway location is bad ....are in disbelief. They simply don't know how the system works ,,, they expect and demand that it perform like ground based ISP's.

melissa.carroll1968,

Are you saying that Howard Hughes was a Russian?   Russian Spy?  So he launched Sputnik 1?

Amen!  Having worked with Computers (the first semi-conductor one for the Military at Autonetics and digital networks before the internet (and yes, even well before Apple and integrated circuits!) and Hughes before the first Russian satellite went up). I was happy when I was able to get on Direcway and even happier when Gen 4 came along.  Having worked with big digital com networks for 30 + years before I retired in 1994, I must say that Hughesnet does an excellent job of providing reliable service to those who have a modicum of understanding on communications and bandwidth issues.  Knowledgeable phone reps not so much!

Thanks Hughesnet!

It's too bad those few who complain are not familiar with the software and space environment difficulties that have been overcome by Hughesnet just to pioneer and develop satellite communications and develop the technology that competitors can exploit! (and they did!!!)

Bill, you are quite welcome to the lesson in Constitutional law. I have never seen anything from you except condescension, sarcasm, and belittling of the problems people are having with HughesNet. Since you are an expert in all areas of computer technology, perhaps you could be a little more helpful. I am surprised you are still allowed to "help" on this forum. And, yes, the complaints are labeled as problems. There are some lazy Americans as you say; however, the majority of Americans want the best for themselves and their families and are willing to work for it. When they spend their hard-earned money on a product and are promised certain things, they expect to receive them. And as for the quote from Mark Twain, maybe you should apply it to yourself.

Just saying, Howard Hughes hasn't had a hand in any of Hughesnet, GM owned Hughes Aircraft, and M/A-Com Telecommunication(Which is where Hughesnet came from) was then bought by Hughes Aircraft, but by this time Howard Hughes had already been dead for ~3 years.
