I have had HughesNet for just over 4 years. Of any service or product I have ever paid my hard earned money on, HughesNet is the very worst. This is not hyperbole, I mean this sincerely. The speed is terribly slow, just above dial-up. The idea of watching a streaming movie is only a pipedream. Any time I have been in touch with customer service, they tell me "everything is OK". We live in a VERY remote area, there are no alternatives or I'd have been gone ages ago. HughesNet is, in short, a complete joke. Someday, I will have an alternative and color me gone.
I am in the exact situation and no other options and seems like since Gen4 came out it's even worse then before with unreliable service and I don't even try to watch a movie on my lap top. Give me another option and color me gone also and I have had hughes net since 2007

Please connect your computer directly to the modem and run some speed tests for us to evaluate. Please run a set of 5 speed tests 3 times over the course of a 24 hour period for us to properly evaluate your speeds.
