Hughesnet built in wifi and home network file transfers

I am trying to transfer files between my two home office computers and have always done this through wifi on my router; however, I don't understand if I am using my monthly data allotment if I perform this function over the  Hughsnet provided modem with built-in Wifi.  Can anybody explain to me how this works in terms I can understand?

Your data allowance doesn't include LAN only traffic...  In other words, if it's from one computer on your LAN to another computer on your LAN, it won't count against you.  Only traffic that goes outside to the internet and back will count against you.
