I AM PAYING FOR 10MBS BUT I ONLY AVERAGE 2MBS OR LESS

PAY FOR 10MBS AND GET LESS 2MBS OR LESS. I MAKE THE PHONE CALL NO HELP. I PAY FOR HOME TECH SUPPORT NO HELP. OF COURSE IT HAS TO BE MY ROUTER OR COMPUTER BUT THEY WERE CHECKED AND IN PERFECT WORKING ORDER. HUGHES NEVER TAKES ANY RESPONSIBILITY FOR A PROBLEM, BUT THEY ARE MORE THAN HAPPY TO TAKE MY MONEY. THE ONLY SOLUTION I SEE IS TO GET ANOTHER  PROVIDER. I PAY $6.95 A MONTH FOR EXPRESS REPAIR BUT DO THEY SEND ANYBODY NO! I AM TOTALY DISGUSTED WITH HUGHES!

I see it's your first post here, so welcome to the community! Thanks for posting, we'd like to help address your speed concerns. To get started, please follow the steps here to set up a testmy.net account and run speed tests so that we get a proper evaluation of your system performance:

Most important points:
-do the tests while directly connected to the HughesNet modem
-use the 12MB test file
-space each test at least 5 minutes apart
-post your results URL here, it may look something like http://testmy.net/quickstats/[yourusername]

cwelec, most of us have no other viable options for internet. I could go to 4G cell data but speed is up and down the same as satellite. Plus in my case the cost would be significantly higher since I have the Ultra plan.

This is how you can post test results once opening an account at Testmy.net: http://testmy.net/quickstats/sgoshe

Be sure to do them directly connected to the modem, no router. It is the best way when troubleshooting speed issues to ensure nothing else is interfering with the results.

Very slow speeds. Less than 1MBPS
