No Return Call From Tech Support or anyone! Tired of being ignored!

Post have returned.

No Return Call From Tech Support. Long Post. Tired of being ignored! (original post was removed)

So my post was removed. Here it is again. Why remove my post without any information? There are no lies, only the truth of how I am being treated. I did not even finish it as I am tired of the problem.

So after having problems with my gen4 for many years, and then upgrading to Gen5 I felt like I finally real internet again. The internet was always fast morning, noon and night.

The only problem I had was that after a few months I was getting randomly disconnected from my online game. I tried everything and worked with the game company support team and finally they recommended I try a VPN.

I was asked in the previous post what game it was. It is Black Desert Online. I had no issues staying connected on Gen4 or the first when I first got Gen5. It happened a few weeks again, and I had a ticket opened for this. I had been playing this game since September without needing a VPN. So for the the three or four weeks.

Low and behold I was never disconnected while using the VPN. Of course when I turned off the VPN or did not use I was disconnected. So after some months hughesnet decided I shouldn't be playing a game I guess. So I'm suppose to hid it like I'm a child behind a VPN. I did have an open ticket on this, which took a while for anyone to call me back from Tier 4 tech support. But I missed the call, and then I lost my satellite to a car accident on the same day.

Sorry for that. Just a heads up of what I am still dealing with along with my new issues.

So onward to the problems I have now, which is reminiscent of my final Gen4 days. So I called on the day the Satellite was taken out to schedule someone to come out and fix it and it took 5 or 6 six days. I can understand that with all the new upgrades you all were getting. Heck, I even started to recommend hughesnet for the first time since I had it in the last 6 years.

So my installer got here (June 20th) and moved the satellite onto a tree, took about 10 minutes to get the sat in position. He then had some issues, he changed something from a right to left (or left to right, cannot remember exactly) and had to call tech support to make a new install now. He went in the house and finished setting everything up, and came out and told me he was done and left my computer on yahoo. So I gave him a tip and thanked him, and on his way he went.

So I go on the internet once he leaves and realize it is slower. I figured I give it some time and try later. I tried later and still bad. I called and spoke to tech support, and was told someone would have to call me back. No one called by the next day. also did a email and chat support with the next couple days. Same response.

Still after numerous call, emails, chats no one has called back. My speeds decrease as the day goes on. I think it probably had something to do with the changed the tech made. But I cannot be sure as I don't work for Hughesnet and no one calls back.

So it is July 2nd right now and 12 days after the satellite was reinstalled and no help from anyone. I am extremely upset, they want me to pay for my service call that made this happen, and just credit me days?

I have to pay a VPN $10 a month to play an online game also. Ridiculous! If I didn't tip the tech that would have paid for 2 months of it.

Some speeds I tested and just gave up, and don't bother using the internet in the night.

I am using the HT2000W, there is no other router involved as it already supplied by Hughesnet.

No it was there ealier as I had resposes on it. Then its gone.

I don't believe that. If it was spam it would not have been on there for a few hours. And how would it be related to spam anyways. There were no links or anything or anything that would be related to spam. I posted another thread with some added information and that was also gone. I never had an issue before this with posting.

...believe what you wish, but the simple fact is, there are no moderators online at this time, and wont be until the end of the holiday.  The only account you will see is ResponseUser which pops up any time the anti-spam system gets triggered.

Newer accounts on the community could see posts removed if they edit a post and add a link to that post, or post too fast/frequently.  There are other variables at play I am sure that I am unaware of.

Added to this post. See what happens.

Hrm, seems the topic is still in place... I forgot exactly how my post went so I will try to keep this short and sweet...
For the game (Black Desert Online), there are a FEW things that can cause connectivity issues with JupiterII right now...  So you may want to try the following...

1: Disable uPnP on your HT2000w
How to Disable uPnP on the HT200w
2: Disable IPv6 on your computer - I will assume you have a Windows based operating system, the following link should be of help in doing that.  The instructions state Win7, but Win8, and 10 are pretty much the exact same.
How to Disable IPv6
3: Disable Web Acceleration - The instructions at the following link are geared towards an HT1100, but, it's the same steps for the HT2000w
Disabling Web Acceleration

Let us know if any of that works or not.

As for the whole install thing, yeah, installing on a tree is a big no-no, they move way too much for a system to remain reliable...  Do you actually have a picture of that you could share to the community?  Not doubting you, just never seen an installer actually attempt something like that.

Moving on to speeds, before you do anymore speedtests, can you tell us when visiting the Advanced pages of your HT2000w, under General > Summary > SBC Status, what is the satellite name?  It should be EchoStar-19-NAD.

Thanks, all these have been tried before I even went to hughesnet support. None had any changes.

  • I have tried the uPnP as I read about it on the forums and there was no difference.
  • I have tried disabling IPv6 at the request of BDO support with no change.
  • Disabling the Web Accelerator was the first thing I tried as I had issues with this on Gen4 with certain websites.

Here it is. I did not think anything of it really and he took my pole with him. If they have to come out again and replace this I will not be paying for another pole. I have not lost connection due to this, It does stay connected just snail speed as the day goes on.

I am an installer. And that should never have been put on a tree.  That needs to get moved back to a pole mount.

Yeup, pointed to the correct satellite, you have tried everything I can think of personally.

At this point, I consider that to be a horrible install, trees move significantly, they expand and shrink with the rainy and dry days.  It's just not acceptable and should be redone properly, and the installer should be audited to make sure he hasn't done other half-baked stuff.  It's one thing to install a dish on a roof where there's some structural integrity to hold things in proper alignment, or a thin steel pipe, it's a whole different ball game when it's just a living stick.

It will be pointless IMO to try any further testing till a good install exists, so you may want to hold off on the speedtests.

Will be Wednesday before @Liz or @Aedan can address this (sorry, like I said earlier, they are out for the holidays, and it may be late wednesday before they can chime in).  I am sure they will agree with me (i hope) that the install needs to be redone, and will require that the installers do a proper pole install.

If they do the install, and speeds are still horrible, you will need to do the speedtests on testmy.net and post a results URL to your account so that engineering can take a look into things.  They will still probably have to escelate things as is for the game though, but I think getting the system operational first should be priority.

EDIT: @gokartergo24 beat me to the comment about the install, never should have happened, I am in all seriousness, shocked...  Words honestly can't describe it...

I would be shocked, If I hadn't seen it before. I have no idea why a installer would think that is a good idea.

I didn't know for sure if a "tree install" was something that was acceptable practice, even if not common, which is why I only expressed surprise, but it sure seemed odd.  Even a relatively small movement caused by the tree moving in the wind can throw things out of whack, and a tree isn't exactly something ridgid when it comes to the type of ridgidity that I wouild assume is needed.  Plus, enough movement could cause the installation itself to move and not be in the same position once the tree is back to its normal position.  And, just now reading, I hadn't even thought of the expansion and contraction mentioned by Corrosive.

With that said....WOW.  Just...WOW.  I'm shocked.  I really hope this installer hasn't done other things like this.  I wish he/she had done a much better job for you.

Well, that's weird.  Not that they don't ever do this, but this is the first time I've ever heard of them installing the dish on a tree.  What if there's wind?

I was under the impression that a VPN was touch and go with HughesNet (or maybe any satellite internet), and there's no guarantee that it will even work at all.

The only thing I can think of, with regard to your post disappearing, is the automatic system.  Perhaps something just hit the anti spam that it didn't like.  I don't know.  We had an issue with posts disappearing that took weeks to figure out, though, unless you had a macro in your original post that you later edited, it's unrelated to the mentioned occurrences.

What one of the worst things is being ignored and lied to by the tech support people which includes phone and chat. Everytime I call or chat which started on the day of the satellite being replaced I am told that I will get a call from Engineering that day or within two days, and no one ever calls. They either say the case was not escalated or blantantly disregard what I am saying and try to talk over me.

I told I did not think I should have to pay for a service call where I currently trying to fix the issue on the same day, and they respond well we will see but we can possibly credit you for time lost. I have never had such bad service on Gen4 even when they closed my case alot. But this has been going on almost two weeks. How could anyone think this is an acceptable way of dealing with customers.

I still think the issue with speed had to do with the installer reversing the polarity and calling hughesnet to finish it up. The speeds where great up to the last minute before the car took out the satellite, no slow downs during primetime or early afternoon. After that is when the speed issues started. No durning the day has been ok, but at night I just give up doing anything on the internet, leaving what speed there is for my wife to use and complain about.

The issues with the game did not start right away when I upgraded to gen5, it seemed to get worse the longer I had it. To the point where there was no way to stay connected. Only after trouble shooting with BDO tech support and them suggesting a couple VPN's to try did I not have an issue staying on.

Hopefully soon I will get back the speeds I had as I was actually happy to use Hughesnet, and I did recommend it to my neighbors. But now I just mad and feel like I did before upgraded.

Trust me, if the radio had the wrong polarity the system wouldn't work at all.  Some beam assignments require the polarity be reversed.

The installer told me he wished he hadn't changed it from left to right (or right to left, don't remember) because he had to call hughesnet to add it as a new install now.

Does that sound right?

@jdayton1

When the satellite was fixed after it was taken out by the car, was anything on it replaced?

Not a thing. He took it off the pole which was loose in the ground. Cut off some of the wire and hung it on a tree. There was no visible damage to anything except the pole would not be secure without repouring concrete.
