Non-Profit Being Billed Unfairly

Our internet service was working sporadically at our non-profit business, and we finally asked for a technician to come and look at the dish. The technician who arrived on 10/17/14 stated that the dish had been installed improperly by Hughes Net in a terrible spot and would have to be moved in order for our internet to work properly. We had the dish moved. On 11/10/14 we received a bill for over $1000 for the move of the dish. We called Customer Service on 11/13/14 and spoke to "Steve" in Customer Service who stated the notes on our account from the technician clearly stated the dish had been installed improperly and that it was not our responsibility. He gave us a ticket number of 44701267 and said someone would call us within 3 business days. On 11/18/14 we called Hughes Net because no one had contacted us as promised. We spoke to an "Eric" at customer service who stated that the Corporate office had decided that the bill was in fact our responsibility because we had not called every time the service wasn't working properly. He also stated that we are not allowed to contact the Corporate Office.

We did indeed call several times over the years when our service was not working, but not every time for the simple reason that every time the customer service number is called it is literally a minimum of 20 minutes or more of hold time and several transfers just to get a respresentative. As a business, we do not have time to do that every time the service went down, which was often.

As previously stated, we are a 501c3 non-profit animal rescue with several thousand followers on social media as well as MANY nationally prominent media contacts due to the nature of our non-profit. can be provided on request. As a result, we intend to saturate both our internet followers as well as the media contacts previously mentioned with this entire ridiculous story so that we are sure that this horrific company and their actions are recognized.

This is not a question, just a heads-up to this Company that we are not going to pay this insane bill quietly and go away as you hoped. You are an immoral and deceitful business with no scruples at all. Your product is awful and your customer service practices are worse.
