Northern California on Beam 55

I had the service installed in mid-November.  I initially got thru to tech support and the service worked off and on for a couple weeks.  I have since been in contact with the service desk and promised calls back by engineering since early December.  The service is basically unuseable.  Fortuately I did not cancel my 1.4 AT&T service yet because it is faster.

Does anyone have information on how to get some typr of resol;ution?  I see from other posts I'm not the only one with this problem.

Thank You

Is your issue with speed?

Yes, I get speeds around 5 in the early morning.  During the day it is generally less than 1.

a lot of us are seeing this -- it seems to be a known issue, and the company is working hard to address it.  If you'd like your issue to be addressed separately, it helps to have speed tests. Below is the information usually given to users on how to conduct speed tests.  The link to results can then be used to show the company what's going on at your end, and they can use the data gathered from your results.

----------------------------

To help the HughesNet Customer Service Reps get a head start on your speed concerns you should create a testmy.net account and, while signed into that account, perform a batch of 3-5 tests during different parts of the day, then share the account results link with us here.

Please keep in mind that HughesNet will only accept testmy.net and the official HughesNet speed test results. Tests from other sites like speedtest.net are not accepted due to the compression technologies and latency that satellite deploys.

Most important points to remember during this test:
-do the tests while directly connected to the HughesNet modem with a LAN cable (NO third party Router or Wireless devices can be used)
-disable the WiFi while the speed tests are being performed
-use the 25MB size download test file ONLY
-If testing upload instead of download, you must use a 4MB size upload test file
-space each test at least 5 minutes apart
-post your testmy results URL here, it may look something like http://testmy.net/quickstats/yourusername

For a more in depth guide on running the tests, please visit: http://customer.kb.hughesnet.com/Pages/7001.aspx

Following is the URL for test my.net:

I was not able to get the test link for Hughes Net to work.  I will add some more at different times and forward when completed, but this contains some tests since I first registered yesterday.

I've been getting similar speeds.  I think it's all part of the issue the company's trying to resolve. It's affecting a lot of people.

Is there an estimated time frame for this to be corrected?  I donot want to cancel our other internet service until we know this is stable.  Meanwhile I need to pay for both services.

Please let me know when to expect the service to be at speed and stable.

Thank You

I ran the tests thru the day yesterday.  Here is the link to the results:
