Pi-hole might be a good solution for some people's data woes

Pi-hole acheives adblocking on every device by acting as a DNS server. It requires a linux computer but does not require high specs. A great benefit to using this is it blocks on every device on the network, so things like streaming sticks will not waste as much data. Probably the best way to set it up on a standard HughesNet-installed network would be to turn off DHCP on the HughesNet equipment and to enable the DHCP server on the Pi-hole.

Or, better yet, one could just install PFSense, SQUID, SquidGuard and PFBlocker, setup their lists and enjoy the internet ad-free, and have content filtering, as well as setup their own throttling to make sure users dont suck all the bandwidth up.
