I've not bothered with speed tests since my switch to Gen4.
The only speed test that counts for me is whether my online activities "feel" fast and zippy, and on Gen4 they do, always......

Good point............... the end result about any type of product or service is how the customer 'feels' as an end user. (Although, it is always nice to have the data to provide the objective perspective.)

You are right the final analysis really does boil down to how product / service performance makes you feel when you use it.

Hi Jerry, we have been running scheduled maintenance for the past couple of days which I suspect effected you in a positive way. We'll be continuing maintenance (beam by beam) through December 24th. Thanks for posting your improved speeds .... I'm very happy to see them! Smiley Happy Sara

Sara, that is exactly the kind of post I want to see here. That helps a great deal for all customers. At least we know HughesNet is performing maintenance and we may have some issue through the 24th of this month. Great update.

I agree with Ricky and Pablo. Your post noting that maintenance is being performed on a "beam by beam" basis is good information. That's the kind of forward looking and open information that I was trying to (however, obtusely) recommend in my post that you removed today

This type of information is very valuable to users and should reduce the volume of posts asking what is being done to resolve a particular issue. A "beam by beam" target schedule would probably be valuable also for those users.

Kudos for posting this valuable information.
