A number of long term Hughesnet users have written a series of FAQ's, How-To's and general information articles pertaining to the confusing number of Hughes systems and plan levels with in those systems.

Different systems are defined broadly by which modem you have and if you get your data refilled Daily (HN9000 modem "legacy"), Monthly (HN9000 "Gen4 wannbe Connect and Connect Pro), Monthly (HT1000/1100 true Gen4) or, believe it or not a Daily plan with an Hourly Drip refill (DW6000/HN7000s legacy plans)
Each of those "systems" have various plan levels available and the "rules" can be applied somewhat differently.
It really can be hard at times to glean useful info just by browsing threads here on the forum if you aren't aware of the system being discussed.

These were written from the perspective of a user. I have been a Hughes subscriber for about 11 yrs and three of the above noted systems.
You do not need to register or "join" the Shack to read the FAQ's, only to post there.
