This Company is a rip off and shady

I am so over this Company I pay well over $100 a month for horrible service they claim we used 20gb in less then 5 days, I have a 14 year old who does homework on his I pad and I have an  I phone which I normally do not connect to my wifi here it will not let me and there is no way we consumed that much. They also had quoted me an amazing deal when I asked to sign onto that for $79.99 a month they then claimed that service is not available in my area the top option is 20gb for $130 plus tax, however once you use that up in less then a week you can buy some form of a token to activate more data hmmm scam this company sucks but there is no other around here. Ready to cancel and go to the library or someplace with free wifi.

Hi bcole74

While we can't compete with free, we can help to offer solutions to your data management troubles. An iPad can eat up data pretty quick, especially after homework is done, or if the homework includes watching educational videos and lectures. Are the iPad and iPhone the only internet capable devices in the home?

Thanks

No his I pad does not suck up 20gb of data when he is not on it longer then 10 minutes a day if at all, he does not access videos or lectures for his homework, and for this company to imply 20gb was used in less then 5 days is a problem, I have a secure password for the guest access and no one has been on as a guest.  In the entire time I have had this service we can not even watch one movie off of Netflix and that's even on the day its paid and reset.

I am having a hard time understanding how the plans available to me are so limited yet once my gb are used up I can purchase additional I already pay more then enough for poor service.  Example of poor service if I am logged into hughesnet through my phone no one else can get on, there is always only one device allowed to access this service we do not download games, porn, etc, I have 6gb through my phone I use and I can access Facebook, Pandora, movies and not even use half of that 6, so please explain how 20gb were used in less then 5 days?

I am not an idiot I expect nothing for free however I do not expect to be taken advantage of, thank you for your time!

Hi bcole74

In looking at your system.. seems like there are a lot of data requests from Xbox Live - is there an xbox in the home? These do really BIG updates (we're talking gigs) regularly. Also, please be sure to double check the browsing history of all your devices at home. If they are Apple Devices, you can also view Website Data generally even if history has been deleted.

Launch the Settings app from the Home screen of your iPhone or iPad.
Scroll down and tap on Safari.
Again, scroll down to the bottom and tap on Advanced.
Now tap on Website Data.

Amanda Hughes-net is crooked.  The first 30 days the data meter  is turned off . After that like the folks say  one  week in and the service gets throttled.  Scam net also is a double-bill specialist.
Dishnet just burnt me  with this garbage.
Dont walk  run if offered scamnet.

You see it's like this dribble.......

for the first 20 days Hughesnet gives you UNLIMITED data so you can get any updates or extra programs you may need. They do this as a service to ingrates such as yourself and then get slammed for it.

It's a shame that your first post showed how little your really know. Obviously you can't monitor your data usage and you choose to blame Hughesnet for your own inabilities.

Wait, I just went to get some milk and realized it is past the expiration date.  Can I blame Frigidaire?

Hey dalegribble

We're sorry to hear you're not happy with the service, but we are sure you can get the help you need. If you have the account through DishNet, have you tried contacting them to see what they can do for you?

Thanks
