I upgraded to Hughesnet Gen 5 last Friday and the installer only checked my cellphone. After he left, I was unable to connect my main computer so he told me to use the ethernet cable. That works but doesn't seem like the rignt answer. My laptop however will not connect. I keep getting an error message: WiFi IP Address Not Found.
The installer says he can't fix it and Hughesnet sends me to tech support who sends me to someone who wants to chatge me $100 to fix it. My laptop worked just fine in the mornoing. I turned it off when the installer showed up and it hasn't worked since!!!
Any suggestions?
Never heard of that error before... Are you able to get a picture to show us the error?
I will try and get a screen shot tonight.
Thanks!
Poppy
Perhaps your laptop was set for a specific IP address that is not available on the new wifi router? Try changing the IP to dynamic in the laptop's network settings and see if the issue persists.
How do I do that? Sorry I am so NOT a tech person!
Sure, I can help out 🙂
What version of windows or Mac OS are you using?
