You have limited connectivity to the gateway.

When I do a test on a brand new install in sunny weather with 100 percent of my data remaining do I get this message: You have limited connectivity to the gateway.

Gateways are located in other states, and weather affects them.

Did you reboot the modem?

I did, test was green. Checked speed and got 1.77 Mbps down and 4.24 Mbps up. Interesting, will not let me post without a tag but none are available to select.

Don't worry about the tags. Please post the URL to your testmy.net My Results page.

I have poked around for 20 minutes an now I am unable to locate the testmy.net page, I don't know where it went.

The testmy.net site is here: https://testmy.net/

Your My Results page would be https://testmy.net/quickstats/[yourusername]

I found it, thanks. https://testmy.net/auto?extraID=A&st=1&r_time=1&xtimes=12  I ran test, got some data points but had much needed rain. Lost satellite for a while, restarted another test now that it is back.  My name on test my net is commando57 if that helps. If I reply to your email, will it show up here?

This is the URL to your "My Results" page:

You are not using the correct file sizes.  You need to follow the instructions given here:   https://community.hughesnet.com/t5/Tech-Support/Think-you-have-slow-speeds/m-p/110034#M74607

EDIT: not sure what you mean by "reply to your email."  If you want to reply to individual posts here, just click the "reply" button and your reply will show as a new post in this thread.

Test results:https://testmy.net/quickstats/commando57 When you reply, I get an email. I was asking if I replied to that email does that response go here?

The Community notification emails are just an automated process.  I'm not sure where a reply to one of those notification emails would end up, if didn't get lost or dismissed by the system, but it wouldn't be here or to a HughesNet support rep.  Clicking on the blue, highlighted title of the email content ("Re: topic title"), however, will bring you here, to the topic in the Community.

Havent heard from yall it has been a week, this thing is still slow as molasses, wife keeps digging on me about slowness on comments loading on Facebook. I read a Hughsnet guy say it was not for downloading Netflix type movies, but this thing won't even load a YouTube vid. Wont have to worry about hitting the cap cause there is not enough time in the month!

Hello,

Thank you for reaching out, After running diagnostics on your account, it indicates that everything is working. The download is 28.6 Mbps and the upload speeds are 1.7 Mbps. Try changing the setting when using Youtube from high definition to standard definition.

Kathy

Are things fixed for you?. I am getting the same issues.  limited gateway error in orange...

things are not slow for me, nothing loads 95-99% of the time.

just wondering if somthing fixed your problem

Thanks

Don

Another week has passed, no word from anyone, still as before. Very unsatisfied.

You did get a reply:

https://community.hughesnet.com/t5/Tech-Support/You-have-limited-connectivity-to-the-gateway/m-p/126...

If you're still having speed issues, run the tests the way they're supposed to, with the right file sizes (which you haven't done yet).  According to your Testmy.net results, your speeds are excellent.

If you still have the issue with connectivity to the gateway, take a screenshot and post it.

Could you help me with my issue . Gateway limited connectivity
I already have a post out and Remy was helping , but not luck with fixing this
First i get a 12.1.12 then my standard error code 12.1.9. ( it’s up most of the time)
What is a limited connectivity to gateway. What does it actually mean?
I have a good signal strength 100-115 most of the time.

Thanks
Don

The issue you're experiencing is something a HughesNet rep, such as Remy, has to help with.  He's re-escelated your issue and I'm sure he'll reply when he has more information.

The gateway is the ground station on the "other side" of the satellite from your own.  Your connection to it seems to be having issues.

Please be sure to stick with your original thread.

Someone hijacked my thread I became confused. Even though you say my tests are sat, but I have not done them correctly, how can they be sat? I surf constantly and can tell the response is more like dialup than satellite. I will try and re-setup the test. I could send a video of it slowly displaying a picture, or waiting 4 or 5 minutes to return Facebook "comments"

If your web pages, such as Facebook, are taking an inordinately long time to load, I suggest downloading some type of page load timer app or extension for your browser to demonstrate this.  You can then take a snapshots of the results and upload them.  As an example, the following is Facebook for me, with the page lowered to the bottom right corner of my desktop so as to include the system clock in the snapshot.  The page load time extension I'm using is no longer available, unfortunately, but there are others.

With regard to videos, because of both the pandemic related high level of congestion with the system right now and the high latency inherent to satellite internet, streaming and videos, like with Youtube and even on Facebook, can be touchy.  They may take longer than normal to load and there may be a good deal of buffering.  This is especially the case in the evening, when the highest number of people are online.  You can try both reducing the resolution of the video and/or turning off, or snoozing, the Video Data Saver, though how much of an effect either of these will have can vary.

Though the speed tests run are incorrect for the use of official troubleshooting purposes due to the correct sizes not being used, your overall speed appears to be okay.  Because KathyVoss didn't ask for more, and because her remote tests showed about what yours are are averaging, I wouldn't bother running more speed tests, even with the correct sizes.  However, if you're requested to run more in future, please be sure to use the correct sizes (25MB down and 4MB up).
