iTunes/Android App Store Updates - Feedback Needed

Hi All,

We appreciate all the feedback and troubleshooting that has been provided to help us thus far. Our engineers this past Sunday, completed tweaks to all Gateways in regards to software updates using the app stores. Most of you should be seeing improvements. Normal slow downs due to peak hours or system load are still expected. However if you continue to see a significant slow down or intermittent connection issue arise, please let us know so we can continue updating our engineers with feedback.

This announcement thread will be the go to place for any customers still experiencing unusual slowdowns. So, to reduce the influx of potential posts, and create a better way to track continued concerns. We are politely asking, that you refrain from posting every single update as it arrives. Take note of important info as you go, and post if you feel performance is still not improved based upon the pattern you see. Makes it easier to escalate further details to engineering, who we've decided to send updates to twice a week. If you are generally seeing improvements, positive feedback is always welcomed too :-).

Thanks Chris and HughesNet engineers! Speed of iOS downloads via Beam 58 was excellent earlier this morning.  Did have one glitch though in the past hour.  The Apple App Store was unreachable via HughesNet about 0830 MST.  However, it was reachable via AT&T LTE.  But it is reachable via HughesNet again at 0910 MST.

I still couldn't download iTunes update on my computer and my iPad software update was extremely slow. 34 mb took about three hours

Is this during specific times or all day?

It's pretty much all day. When I start my software update on itunes, my modem will flash for awhile then it stops flashing like it's not even trying to download it.

We live in Waynesboro, TN and are having the same issue with iTunes. The download stalls out and we are not able to get anything thru itunes. I even tried the link thru my browser and same thing. Its only with Apple/iTunes

The forum Mods were looking for input after the latest round of changes by engineering.

I'm on Beam 58 and have not seen any iTunes iOS app download speed issues since the fix was rolled out.  (I have seen iCloud IMAP email slowness though, which may or may not be related to HughesNet.)

All, We think the ITunes app downloads issue has been resolved.  If you think you are still seeing the problem, first make sure it's not an iOS update rather than specific to an app update.   The engineers tell us they're refining performance for iOS updates, unless you tell us otherwise.

My android play store is 128kbs exactly. Please fix this issue I've posted several times now. I don't have an apple device. Please fix android play store. My reference number is 100849907

I still can't update iTunes on my windows 7 pc and I left my iPad on all night trying to install iOS software and when I got up this morning it still said 3 hours remaining also android is still slow

Doing my iTunes update right now and it's downloading, and at a good consistent speed. Maybe they fixed it now.

Android updates and games still do not load or if they do it's extremely slow

My speed goes up and down.  I got iOS 10 downloaded fine, but it took 45 minutes for a small update on my Android tablet a little later.

My speed does to. It use to be consistent now it'll go from like 20 or above Mbps then drop to around 5 or 6 Mbps
