Re: speedtest trying to share results

Sooooo are you saying it's normal for the test to run at 4min's + if thats the case then how do you explain the constant buffering at these speeds i could stream live right? but thats not the case..  if you guys think it would help i could try doing video's and posting it to facebook.for you guys to check let me know..thanks for putting up with me...

Fascinating. Thanks for this bit of info. Let me see what we can do. I'll post back once I have an update to share.

Re: speedtest trying to share results

Aha! Learned something new from engineering. Since you're on our Spaceway satellite, and the max speed tier is 5 Mbps, we should've been using the 5 MB test file. I wish I had known this earlier, I'm sorry for that inconvenience. I sent you a bunch of tokens for the tests so far.

While I was speaking to the engineer, he did check your site and ran his own tests and found your site to have normal speeds.

So let's step back and figure out the issue. Are you noticing websites in general loading slowly for you? If so, which websites?

Some good ones to test are:
purple.com - this should load fairly quickly, as it only shows a purple screen.
yahoo.com - this has more content than purple.com, so it should take slightly more time to load

I just want to know what initially prompted you to start this thread.

Your cooperation, patience, and understanding are much appreciated.

Thanks,
Liz

Re: speedtest trying to share results

Liz,

Are we now using 5 MB manual test for 9000 (daily and monthly ?) and 12 MB manual for Jupiter Gen4 ?

Re: speedtest trying to share results

Yeah, so test file sizes for reference:

Measuring DL:
Jupiter - 12 MB
Spaceway - 5 MB

Measuring UL:
Jupiter and Spaceway - 2 MB
Legacy plans - 1 MB

Thanks,
Liz

Gwalk,

This has nothing to do with the topic at hand.  I am just responding to your most recent post.  I'm on Beam 24 and my Gateway ID is 4.  I just thought you might want to add the beam to the gateway on your gateway map.
