using squarespace

Are there any users that have used the hughesnet with squarespace to successfully build a website?

When i click save (in squarespace) it says "saving...." and it goes dim and requires a browser close and re-open because after 1 hour it is still saving.

When i take the same laptop to the library internet everything works. Do I need to pay a higher plan amount?

Anybody have any ideas? Or am i just out of luck.

Heck, I didnt want to be able to earn a living anyway.

BTW, I love Hughesnet because sometimes I can get email at home!

Especially if I set my alarm for 3:30am and use the computer in the middle of the night.

So, some stuff works Okay (thumbs up)

Sorry to bother anyone

Re: using squarespace

It might have something to do with the high latency inherent to satellite internet.  In a Google search I found this in a review of Squarespace...

"I sometimes needed to update the website via a satellite internet connection, and due to the higher latency (response time sending the link to the satellite and back), it wasn’t a great experience."

If this is the cause, there's probably not a whole lot you can do about it.  But, with that said, I know nothing of Squarespace.  Other might.  I'll defer to them.
