What is DSS starting with the account number?

Edit: Does it mean digital satellite service? if not what is your meaning?

Hello @Ryan11433,

Thank you for reaching out to us. DSS stands for Data Services Server. We use this abbreviation to differentiate the type of account a customer has. In this case, DSS is always going to be a residential account whereas SME, which stands for Small Medium Enterprise, is for a certain type of HughesNet business account. There are many other types of abbreviations assigned to different HughesNet accounts. I hope this helps.
