When to change plans? Service or Promo to take effect in desired billing cycle / calendar month?

When do service plans need to be changed (upgraded or down graded) to take effect in desired billing cycle calendar month? & When do promotional services need to be canceled to prevent being charged for them?

Clarify if the promotional month is the prorated partial month or the 1st whole month (or if you will be charged for part of the 1st month instead and the next whole month will be discounted) on add on services like anti-virus protection. If the first 6 months are discounted then plan on (5 and the partial) months being discounted and then adjusting before needed but on the day that plans cycle/change based on your installation date. Changing early can result in a change to your cycle date or a partial - double bill.

You'd be better off continuing with the same topic you already had.

Also, it's unhelpful to include so many tags, especially ones that don't apply. Tags are for search purposes.

Service plan changes take effect immediately. If by 'promotional services' you're referring to add ons that have free trials, they need to be cancelled within the time specified in the advertisement to avoid being charged.

When is the right time to change PLans?
& where did the button go to do so?

(to prevent "pro-rate-ing" or double billing for a partial month or other annoying unforeseen costs or headaches)

More detail~
It appears: the obvious answer of scheduling changes is not available as in before the bill date for next months billing cycle.
What time frame (before bill is due can 30->15GB plan be seemlessly changed) or time of day as the Billing and data reset seem to be miss-aligning from what they have been originally. {very annoying in the middle of a project or movie when Data readjusts a day or more ahead of expected} https://community.hughesnet.com/t5/myAccount-and-Billing/Data-and-AutoPay/m-p/139697#M10587
No one wants to be charged a months bill because the button or call was placed too early - Late , on wrong day especially if it is a time zone issue of an hour or 15 min , much less loose access to the data expected to be available.

Logic escapes again:
Where did the button to change plans go?
No longer under dashboard : Account - My services - My services & Plan (page) Change PLan : button
as was when last checked, or as described in instructions.

Cust. support By phone says "Website Maintenance" may be the issue.as such is scheduled to be ongoing.
Did get plan down graded (30->15)=50GB~85->65GB/month on 25th with no reported change to the reg. 27th billing & data renewal (due to the plan change being immediate in dashboard & quoted to take 15-30min) and the physical process of changing the data plan taking 24 hrs or more than a day, So the plan to be in "Fap or such" on Sunday is a good day to be so BLessed because it would be out of service anyway, apparently. For a Zero $ 0 dollar bill for the next six months, hopefully

Still would like to know the calendar of time before "monthly plan rollover" to schedule plan changes; If there is such a way to do so. We will see how i Did. Because guessing or trying to fit into when contact can be achieved with a company that deals in communication should not be so stressing "as is"

Thank heavens for screen captures to prevent one from doubting oneself.

After promotional period;
Customers will need to know how and when to downgrade data plans to remain with ACP
@ Zero $ 0 bill mark or what to expect.

such as the fact that the first 6 months of promo credits the needed difference to maintain a Zero $ 0 Bill for the next 6 months.

"Where did the button to change plans go?"

It's right there under My Services & Plan, which is under the Account section on this website.

 https://my.hughesnet.com/en/account/myservices

If you don't see it, please post a screenshot.

Your questions can probably be answered by getting on the live chat or calling the customer service number...have you tried that?

I'm getting dizzy from all the font changes.

And it's getting even more convoluted, so I'm out as well. 🤣

Good morning AcpResearcher,

Thanks for posting and sharing that screenshot. Please try these troubleshooting steps and let me know if the button is still missing:

-try different browser and let me know which ones you tried

-if you have any adblockers, try disabling them to see if that makes a difference

-clear your browser cache

-try another device

Your cooperation, patience, and understanding are much appreciated.

Thanks,

Liz

Troubleshooting steps Done and the button is still missing: Have a theory if you would like to entertain such; PM or e-mail
A + positive:
pics helped me find the link: Change Plan on the community pages: under/Shop which leads to ->cart.

Not familiar with cart trying to learn
"how one can schedule Plan changes"       or
"When Plans can be changed with no adverse effects."
Don't want to buy a second plan or do the prorate dance if avoidable,
How can We get the $10 discount?
54.99 for 15GB+50=65GB/month    or
64.99 to stay at 30+50=80GB/month

neg - Still "[no dice]" on the🌑 Button 🌑 Change Plan
under/ the user dashboard:Account->My Services & Plan Link
This below is the image Through the user interface dashboard vs. the community boards above:

This difference encourages my theory as to where the button goes as well as how the sign in authorization protocals are working or not.

Good morning,

The "Change Plan" menu option under Shop seems new to me, I'll have to double check internally. Glad you were able to get to the plan changes page in the end.

Your ACP discount cannot be combined with promotional plans. As it stands, your ACP discount takes -$75 off your monthly bill. If you still want to change plans and keep your ACP discount, stick with the non-promotional prices. You're billed on the 27th of every month so you can try changing your plan on that day. I wouldn't consider prorated charges as an adverse effect however, you're just being charged and refunded what's appropriate.

🌑Looking forward to what you find internally.                                                                          🌕   ?
Had to get to town (45mile trip) to get com signal & Cust Serv. via Voice to change plan, Another found the Link above under shop that your looking into & it now goes to the same page: (https://my.hughesnet.com/en/shop/plans?mpsrc=quicklinks) as the -quick link->-pic below
from when we signed up last yr. & made my notes for today
(https://my.hughesnet.com/en/usage/details?mpsrc=quicklinks#:~:text=Quick%20Links-,Change%20Plan,-Vie...)
on the pages :
usage- details&history (https://my.hughesnet.com/en/usage/details?mpsrc=quicklinks & https://my.hughesnet.com/en/usage/history ) reached via the (ui) dasboard under "usage", for those seeking it out later that have been so helpful to me, thankyou ~these Links R4/u everyone else may golf over them, ha😉ha

🌑This is more info, that may lead me to where the button got off too:
Still in theory check 4 updates.
No one is trying to charge more $ for ACP or dicriminate against patrons
intentionally, these "missing Links" to quote the helpfull, R missing links. Everyone is able to read the signs by the tracks that make them up.
//////here is the result: of the changing plans according to the usage graph

Screenshot 2023-03-27 04.38.01.png.accepting comments below- such as the pro-rat-ing is confusing if wonderfullorNot

waiting to change plans untill the day of the bill(27th), maybe unnerving for those with limited resources
no need to worry over a refund if no one is overcharged; as prevention is always better than the cure & tastier too.
Especially considering how easy is is to achieve contact /-vs.-/ attempt(s) as this topic

@AcpResearcher
~AcpResearcher :All newby questions belong here.~. as well as their answers.

Hi, just an update on the change plan button, it is not shown to ACP customers so they are encouraged to call us if they want to change plans. As I've previously mentioned, the ACP can't be combined with other promotional offers, so that's why one should call in so one of our reps can guide you thru plan changes to keep your ACP intact.

Hope that clears things up.
