@MarkJFine Thank you. This doesn't give me any answers but it does give me questions.   Are the GWID things you speak of going wonky the events 12, 13 and 14 as shown on this traceroute? Is this what is giving people the 504 and timeout errors when accessing this store? After running many traceroute operations, I see I always experience the same request time outs so I can't understand why these timeouts mean anything since I have no problem loading the site or any page within it other than the add credit card form. Why wouldn't I be seeing 504 errors? Here's the traceroute run through the Verizon connection. Why is this so much different than the Hughes traceroute? Does this influence on my abiility to faultlessly load the add a credit card form while I can never see the full form when accessing through Hughes?                 ... View more

I forgot to answer your question Liz. Yes I asked them about the truncated add a card screen. They had no info about such a problem. I sent them a screen cap and they were clueless. Hi Liz,   I just checked and I'm able to get manage credit cards section and the add a card popup just fine. I used my phone browser and then used a real computer tethered to the verizon phone internet.   I tried it with the Hughes and got the same useless add a card screen.   Have a good weekend! ... Hi Liz. No changes anywhere. Did you find idiosyncrasies in my modem?   Thus far I see absolutely consistent results using one W7, two W10, one Vista, four different android systems and an iPhone. All the above listed browsers plus more. None of the browsers have add-ons or extensions except FF, Tor and Chrome on the Win computers. I've disabled all extensions in those browsers on two of the computers for testing. In two cases, the browsers were virgin M$ Edge and never previously used. It also makes no difference connecting by ethernet or wifi.   Conversely, all of my computers and devices (6) thgat I can use to connect to the internet through the Verizon internet work flawlessly to load this CC screen. I also checked it out on a friend computer at a company in Pensacola this morning and her internet worked just fine to pull up the full screen. So basically, I have no way to defeat the error going through Hughes and no way to reproduce the error using three different internet systems that are not Hughes.   Liz, were you able to open an account and access the full add a credit card screen using Hughes? If so, about the only thing left is some goofball glitch my modem.   @MarkJFine mentioned modem DNS and TLS/SSL errors in my two "issue" threads. All that's above my pay grade and doesn't compute. As stated in the initial post, reboot and/or toggling web accel has no effect. Complete power off resets of long duration have also not cured a thing.   This particular issue is unlike my other ongoing issue with email that is always immediately cured by a modem reboot.    That certainly doesn't mean the two issues are unrelated. I just tried the exact same thing on my phone itself. I used FF and logged in to my account while connected through Hughes by wifi and then, connected by the Vz internet. The results were identical. Normal form when logging in with Vz internet and the useless truncated form when logging in through Hughes.   My wife tried this from her work internet. It worked perfectly for her. I think her office internet is a massive C-spire corporate fiber system.   Regardless, everything works properly if not run through Hughes and nothing works properly if run through Hughes. All good info. I forgot you look at internet things in much greater depth and detail than average people. Maybe you're experiencing a different accounting of the same basic issue with the token error. I've never seen that. Only the truncated form using various combinations of FF, Chrome, IE, Edge and Tor on three different computers.   It will be interesting to see what you find when you try this with a provider who isn't Hughes.   I think I'll send the info over to my wife at her office and see what she gets when trying to add a credit card. ... Thanks for checking. I've never seen any 504 error screens or any error screens while using this store. I'm not sure how or why you would be trying to connect to their payment processing company. I don't recall seeing any outside entitiies unless I choose to pay with paypal which takes to paypal to complete the transaction.   The fact that the credit card data entry screen instantly flashes to a useless truncated form every time after months of attempts using Hughes while functioning perfectly well every time while using Verizon internet speaks very strongly for the problem being a Hughes specific problem. ... This update is amazing. It's hard to believe M$ can screw up so much stuff.   I woke up at 2 and launched the updates for both W10 computers. They sucked down a total of 5.7 GB but still didn't complete all the downloading before the end of bonus time at 8. They needed another 250 MB after that.   One computer was finished with the entire procedure in 5½ hours while the other needed a breathtaking 10 hours to get done.   Even better is the New & Improved W10 informs me the Home Group has been removed from this newest iteration which decimated a substantial portion of my network. M$ should be required to pay us for putting up with this garbage. ... View more

As it is now I really don't have all that much that requires windows. The hardest thing to give up right now that I can think of would be my Acronis True Image auto backup program and the encryption stuff I use. And then things always get squirrelly with my mail trying to make Thunderbird keep it straight when running part time in Linux and part time in windows. Eh, maybe I'll try it again soon. I think they're both home premium. A derivative of whatever came with the gizmos. An Acer and an Asus.   Windoze really chaps my hide. Two more days until the Hughes reset and I'm almost out of anytime data. I could save a bunch of data by connecting my phone to the Asus and run my business over the LAN but the instant I hook that up to the notebook it's gonna smell the fresh meat on the LTE connection and start downloading that hyooge update in a new york second. Scratch 3 GB off that allowance that just rolled over yesterday. I hate Windoze. It's getting about time to bite the big one and scrap all the M$ garbage and go Linux. Thanks for the warning Gabe. I looked at the two W10 notebooks and they were up to date as of yesterday and the day before. I ran the check on both and the miserable update burned up 150 mb doing the check and then initializing and then preparing to install before it ever got around to telling me they were ready to download. It didn't appear update was going to have any respect for the metered connections so I disconnected them until morning. Good thing I get up at 4 AM. ... View more

Even though you made your post five hours ago, I still haven't received my communtiy mailer notification to my preferred email. Last night I started having a different confict with Thunderbird and the microsoft mail services. This time it was on the send side with my computer mostly unable to pass the smtp authentication at the server. This was with all servers and all mail accounts. After more than sufficient twiddling around I could eventually get my mail to go though. I could ping all the smtp servers.   The problem persisted early this morning and continued when I returned to my computer this afternoon. In one instance I tried many times over several hours this morning to send a stinkin email to a financial adviser with no success. When I returned I tried several more times and tried all the tricks. No go. Other accounts were very problematic but not as bad. Again I could ping the servers.   After I enjoyed all of this nonsense I could stand, I rebooted the modem which had 6-something days on the clock since the last reboot. Once again, problem instantly resolved and has not recurred 2:20 after the reboot and many emails sent without issue. ... View more

Hi Amanda,   Well, this provided a nice diversion from the basic issue, which hasn't come up again yet. I think you're right with lowest number last octet observation. For some reason the modem stays stuck on the 192.168.1.102 device even when that printer hasn't been connected to the router for hours and when nothing else is connected to the router and despite the fact the router itself is 192.168.1.1. And even after a firmware update on the router. I guess it will stay this way assign a lower static IP OF .100 OR .101 to another device.   No amount of connecting, disconnecting, twiddling or fiddling makes any difference between the modem and the router. Neutering the wi-fi in the modem does nothing but give me the expected  perma-state code. The only thing that makes a difference is wiring my main computer directly into the modem. Then the modem admits to being connected to my d-PC at 192.168.1.32 and the router while still reading the router as my network printer. Go figure.   But anyway, I always have a router connected even if you can see it from your side of the dish. Have a nice weekend old friend. ... View more

That MAC address is my Canon printer connected to the router by ethernet cable on 192.168.1.102. This is beginning to make my head hurt   Edit: This keeps getting weirder all the time.
