@Liz, just for your records to pass up to engineers.... Last night was bad. I am in FAP still but uploads were horrific.  20K.  Yes 20K.  ;-( Downloads were sub-par but appears maybe my main issue for me unable to do much of anything last night, browsing, emails, anything... and only able to run the smallest of test sizes as they would time out otherwise.  I felt running them though was important. Hi @Liz, just a note continued issues with Beam 55 in NorCal.   I am in FAP at the moment but also ran tests this AM while not in FAP and speeds are well below normal.   During FAP of course during these slow times in the evening affect FAP speeds too so feel the speeds I am getting are much lower than they should be, even during FAP.  And the speed I am getting does not seem to be real speed as web browsing ceases to work.   During the day in FAP I am getting 1.3Mbps.  That is usable.  I am happy with that myself. By evening I am down in the 500K range and it seems like unusable 500K speeds.  Everything comes to a crawl, I can't run full 25MB tests on testmy.net as they fail, etc....  web just stops or comes to such a crawl things time out.   I reset my modem last night but that did not help.  Speeds this AM are very slow for NON Fap speeds.  Only 7 and 9Mbps when normally in AM we should be getting well above 25Mbps.   So yes, I think once Hughes finds this bug, hopefully FAP speeds become a more honest 1Mbps or above most the time knowing that maybe every so often it can fall under, but I would expect the normal to be at least 1Mbps or above.   Here are my tests.  Sorry the ones from late yesterday while in FAP are smaller tests but I can't even run those 25Mb tests.  Barely get these small ones done it is so slow.   http://testmy.net/compID/232401324866   Thanks TJ     ... @GabeU I have never used an Ad Blocker.  Do they may these for Mac OS X, iOS devices, and Ubuntu Linux?   I ran out of my 20GB in 9 days... seeming to do the same amount of internet I did when I was on Gen 4.  Seemed back then I would chew up 1GB per day. So I figured 20GB I would get through 2/3 of the month and then limp by in FAP to see how the last 10 days goes.   Maybe an AdBlocker will help me too.   TJ ... View more

Yeh, still seems to be a hiccup later evening for me.  I sense a slow-down around 7PM PST and lasts 2 to maybe 3 hours.  Rebooting the modem sometimes helps but not always.  I had been in 30Mbps all day and then around 7PM noticed the slowdown.  6Mbps... then a 2Mbps.  Had work to get done so did a hard reboot and went to 8Mbps.     This AM speeds are fast.  40+ Mbps which is nice.  But 7PM to 10PMish seems slow at nights where reboots may or may not help.   I did noticed I am on this gateway now....  IP Gateway Association State Associated (Data IPGW - J2GIL055HNSIGW0101)   Think I saw someone post that this is a poor gateway?  Unsure if that is the case.  Anyway...   Just my 3 cents.  😉   TJ ... Yes, please folks... start or continue on with your own threads.  This one is getting too long and poluted with too much.     As this is my thread, I will continue posting my own experiences.  Others, please start your own.  Thank you....   I was away on the weekend since Friday afternoon so did not get back to testing until Sunday.  Sunday was good #s... today was fine in AM but I went to a crawl in the evening, like past.  Had to reset modem by unplugging from power as my system was so slow on uploads it was not allowing me to even browser websites and downloads were down in the 1Mbps range.   But, the OK news is a modem reset my speeds are restored.  I figured I would still report my report so mods like @Liz can see.   http://testmy.net/quickstats/macsociety   Regards TJ ... @Liz, thought I would report an oddity. So I reported yesterday was my 1st good day.  All seemed good today up until around 3ish.... felt all started slowing up.  Ran a test at 4:27 and was slow, down in the 2Mbps range.  Like past weeks.  So did a admin reset from 192.168.0.1 and ran another test.  Same slow 2Mbps range.  So pulled the plug on the modem, left unpowered for a couple minutes, rebooted all and tested again.  Was back to decent speeds.  Not sure how long it will hold but figured I would report this.     http://testmy.net/stats/?&t=u&l=25&z=74&q=macsociety   TJ ... Things look good for me today.  I ran many 25mb tests all day and even now at 9PM, it is still working well.  This is a first since I have been a Gen 5 user to have a full day or normality. I used to be 1GB per day when I had Gen 4. Have not had Gen 5 long enough working 100% to check but hoping that is about the same for me. That way I can get through 15 to 20 days at full speed and then the remaining 15 to 10 at FAP but usable FAP I hope compared to my Gen 4 days. man, your speeds I can only dream of.   Sure hope I see those some-day. So far its been all about slow for me on beam 55 outroute 7. Every now and then I see a 20Mbps and I get excited... then reality hits and I am back down in the 1Mbps to 5Mbs range... maybe 10 to 15Mbps if lucky but then I run another test and back down to the 2 to 3s.   It has been depressing for us for sure.
