Also, is it the same when connected by cable to router/modem and using WiFi? Connect the 8 computer directly to modem and see if it works then.

Hi jimbos23, there are many factors that set the two residential satellite Internet pricing plans. Things like population density, number of people already subscribed in the area, capability of the available beam and gateway, plus many other factors. To be honest, if the competition has a better deal I would switch, but I would also research heavily on their community site to be sure you aren't being led into the "grass is always greener" place. If you can truly get full speed 150 GB for $70 versus $100 for 20 GB then a no brainer IMO. Better research carefully though.

Been getting errors on transmit side, trying to determine if on my side or the satellite/gateway side. Did a reboot so lost the previous hours history. Believe it has been going on for at least 12 hours though. System seems to be working OK though. Thanks.

Hi Ricky, just my opinion but CCleaner is probably the safest option now. They fixed the problem with latest release and will be on guard for any new threats. You know the old "fool me twice" scenario. There is Auslogics if you're dead set on switching.

Just saw this. Kodi is an app/OS. I have it installed on my Raspberry PI 3, it is is OSMC now. It is only a Media utility. Has nothing to do with actual Internet service. Me thinks a young'in posted this. And yes, @JayVarner, you most likely have HughesNet available already in your neighborhood.

Only way it may work is doing it through a VPN, even then it will most likely be extremely slow. Sadly, anything above basic user things do not work over residential satellite internet. Would love to have a military channel.....lol. The latency over satellite is also a killer.

The video is most likely encrypted. Only way is like Mike said to re-record it with a screen capture app but a huge PITA in my opinion.

I say good on ya! Very smart thinking creating an alignment pin. The mount, pole and dish are not items you ever have to return anyway. Getting the dish and radio inside out of harms way was the way to go. Chances are if left on the pole everything would have been damaged or destroyed including a bent/unset/off vertical pole. Good old American ingenuity is what made this country great back in the day. I give you kudos personally. Come to think of it an alignment pin should be something on all installs.

Yea, don't see how it could stream at a higher speed than Data Saver allows. Worst case if a site requires a high speed connection then the video maybe won't stream at all or be unwatchable.

I know for something like Netflix where you can set the definition in your account settings, mine set to lowest, it will stream at that definition. Not sure about sites that set definition automatically. Only way to be sure is test it. Plus, I'm still Gen 4 so...........

Bought the kit with pretty much everything other that mouse/keyboard. What a fun little computer in a small box. There is even a Ubuntu Mate image for it. Using it as an OSMC/Kodi media player for now. At least 4-5 OS variations for it. Hashtag Fun/Nerd.

If you are using the 5Ghz band for WiFi, it's entirely possible for it to be experiencing interference in a 1000 square foot house. The 5Ghz band has a very short range in comparison to the 2.4Ghz band. Yep. I use the 5 GHz band to keep my devices separated into bands but my laptop is about 5 feet away form the router and modem. Only a single wood/sheetrock wall in between. The 5 GHz dies very quickly with distance.

If plugged directly into modem by cable and still no access to SCC then the modem may truly be fried. Have to then also wonder about the radio. Hopefully @Liz will have time to reply tomorrow even with the Harvey stuff also going on.
