Eve , I empathize with you and all that you've said. My contract with Hughes net is up in a few months and I can't wait to drop them. I have been following similar issues for just short of a year and I get daily complaints via email just like the ones you described. When I complained about my problems , it was "I" that was always wrong. Hughes net will reply with belittling remarks as though we were a bunch of illiterate dummies. I cringe every time I hear their commercial on national television claiming that they have the fastest internet around. I've learned the hard way that the speed of satellite internet cannot hold a candle to cable or DSL for that matter. I've read messages from disgruntled customers that want to file complaints with the Better Business Bureau for false statements and inaccuracies related to what they were told when they inquired about this service. I have backed off from any further interaction with Hughes . The people that have replied before me to your message work for Hughes. They are the same people that replied to my issues 9 months ago. I'm not going into any detail simply because it's not worth the slightest bit of effort. You will never be right no matter what you say! The only satisfaction that I get is to tell everyone who is searching for an Internet provider NEVER TO PURCHASE HUGHES NET! "Welcome to the world of High Speed Internet" LOL! Good luck.

This is in reply to farrguy. I bet the rep will tell you that he/she spoke with the party that sold you the service and that it was explained correctly! I had a similar issue about how the service was explained to me and that's what I was told. I asked for a transcript of the conversation and guess what ~ I never heard back from the rep that told me that. My service is so slow and I dare not download anything for fear of not getting any service at all. I'm amazed at how many complaints there are about Hughes Net and how the customer in the end is ALWAYS WRONG! This company should be reported to the better business bureau for investigation. I can hardly wait for my two years to arrive and drop them as fast as I can. They will not let you out of the contract because they are ALWAYS RIGHT AND YOU ARE ALWAYS WRONG! I see their commercial on television for GEN 4 being the fastest sattelite in the industry. Well then, I can only conclude that all Sattelite internet service must be really slow if theirs is the fastest in the industry. Their commercial is hideous, ridiculous and laughable. I hope you get to see it one day.
