So for the last month our internet has been horrible. I have been on the phone with Hughesnet numerous times. We had a gen 4 that worked great with little to no problems and then one month ago we had day with some really high winds and the net has been crappy since with data just seeming to disappear and no internet and when we do it’s very slow. So Hughesnet decided to upgrade us to gen 5 (I think I was lured into signing a one year contract by this)and it’s not any better. we received the modem in the mail and connected and powered it up per the instructions and waited for it to boot up. I told every one of the so called techs on the phone that we started having this issue after the high winds. The dish is mounted on a post that is in the ground at the corner of the house. So we’re not sure what the problem is I called them last week and they somehow determined we have a bad gen5 modem so they are sending a new one but I feel this will not correct the problems.
