Speedtest says 44 mbps down and 3 up. But constant buffering when streaming. So the bandwidth is intermittent making streaming impossible. This is advertised as able to stream. Looks to me like it is technically incapable of that due to whatever bandwidth sharing algorithm you are running. This looks like a design issue not a congestion issue.
No, it's a lag and congestion issue. If you do a search, it's pretty much well-documented all over this site.
So does everyone just give up on streaming during the evening? I've been on this service for less than a week and it's horrible. Does connecting the TV to the modem with a line help at all? Or do I just give up on streaming services?
Prayers up fiber comes to my area.
HughesNet was never designed for regular streaming. Unfortunately, over time, as more and more people try to use it for that, congestion has gotten worse, and to the point that, in some areas and in some instances, even light streaming has issues, especially in the evenings. Streaming is also a data heavy activity.
BTW, for your first twenty days of service your monthly data is continually replenished. They do this as a courtesy, to allow new customers to update/upgrade their devices to current without it affecting their normal monthly data allotment.
Thank you. I think I'm just going to cancel my streaming then and deal w slow browsing until something better comes to my area. My cell signal isn't cut out for streaming either, lol.
