Hughesnet Voice (VOIP) did not receive incoming calls - went straight to answering machine
Hello. Twice in six months it occurred that VOIP suddenly decided to reject incoming calls (sending them to answering machine) while otherwise operating nominally. Per telephone assistance, it was resolved by recycling power to Modem, Router, and ATA. I suspect this issue may be related to software updates. Next time I'll just recycle the ATA. Does anyone have an opinion or experience with this? Thank you, Hughes, for making both Internet and VOIP over satellite work ALMOST flawlessly; it should not be compared directly with terrestrial service due to the inherent challenges involved.
