If you are having speed issues, please run some tests at http://testmy.net/.  When running the tests, make sure to be using a single device connected directly to the modem with a LAN cable.  NO ROUTER.  Make sure to create an account and be signed in to that account when running the tests.

You should run a batch of five download tests using the manual 12MB test size, and space the tests five minutes apart.  It's best to run a batch of tests a few times a day, preferably in the morning, afternoon and evening, if you are able.

After running some tests, you can click on the Results tab and copy/paste your Results page URL into a post on here to allow the test results to be looked at.  It will look like the following, but with your account name where it says your account name...

Good morning kevinls7,

Welcome and thanks for posting. I pulled up your account and I see you're currently subject to our Fair Access Policy, so that is why your speeds are slow at the moment.

If you feel that you are not getting the appropriate speeds offered by your Choice plan, please use the free token I sent and run testmy.net speed tests as Gabe previously suggested. You should be receiving an e-mailed order confirmation for the complimentary token.

Here's a guide to getting started: http://customer.kb.hughesnet.com/Pages/7001.aspx

Most important points:
-do the tests while directly connected to the HughesNet modem
-use the 12MB test file
-space each test at least 5 minutes apart
-post your results URL here, it may look something like http://testmy.net/quickstats/[yourusername]

Your cooperation, patience, and understanding are much appreciated.

Thanks,
Liz
