Latency is so high

My latency is at about 2,250 I need to know how to fix it fast plz help

Hi Kameron

Latency is something that comes inherent with satellite internet - is there a particular activity you are trying to complete that requires low latency? Please note that online multiplayer games like Battlefield or things like Virtual Private Networks will not work well or at all on satellite connections.

You could move to the Space Station then the signal wouldn't have to travel so far.

Gary the Space Station is only 249 miles up, not much of a dent in +22K miles to the satellite.  🙂

Kameron, how about when you ping something like 8.8.8.8 ?

Good point 2,250 is rather high even for Satellite Internet mine normally is like in the  650 to 800 range.

Kameron are you on Gen4 and what modem?

I just ran a test and got 2047ms I did notice that it routed me to a server in Great Britain though.

My results with YouTube. The HN9000 does have higher latency in the 1000-1200 range I believe but 2250 does seem quite high. Kameron, is that your latency all the time?

That does seem a little high, here is what my HN9000 is

Yours is what I thought was normal for a 9000, a 2250 is going to make simple browsing quite sluggish.

I would have to agree, anytime mine gets above 1500ms mine is sluggish
