Hi Everybody:
I am having difficulties getting Norton Password Manager to launch over HughesNet. At my office in town, where we have a 230 MBuad bandwidth over fiber, we have no issues whatsoever. But I cannot get it to launch over the HughesNet satellite system at my home in the country. I think the problem may be the latency but I'm not sure. Does anybody have any ideas?

Have you been able to launch it before?
Yes. For over ten years.
I have been using Norton Password Manager (previously known as identity safe) over HughesNet with three versions of Windows (Vista, 7, and 10) and two browsers (Explorer and Edge) successfully for over ten years. Norton Internert Security recently morphed into Norton 360, and this was when the trouble began. This is the first time I've had a problem with either HughesNet or Norton that I could not solve myself. Very puzzling. I suspect this has something to do with the HughesNet datastream (Hughes injects stuff into the datastream) or the latency, but I don't know what to do about it.

I've been having issues with some software, but I use a different password manager and so far it's working (knock on wood). I imagine, though, that it may be related to all the tweaks to the network due to the pandemic.
I have used Norton 360 and I'm not in love with it. The upgrade didn't really improve the app for me, in many respects.
Hopefully a mod will weigh in on this, or forward it to the engineers, and they may have tips or ideas. @Liz

Thank you for posting again. While I cannot speak to a fix for the issue with Norton Password Manager specifically, I can run diagnostics on your equipment to make sure things are still operational. It is best for us to confirm the equipment is working or not before this issue is escalated, as it will most likely need to be. In order to run diagnostics on your equipment, please private message me the phone number associated with your account. I will post the results here along with the next steps.
