Sally Prewett, DSS34249797 - HughesNet Voice

Hi There,

Could you grant Sally a pass to allow her the ability to cancel her HughesNet Voice service and return the ATA without a whopping penalty? She was quoted $240 to cancel the service.

She is living in a mobile home with her mother, both have MS, and are on a tight budget. They depend on a solid phone connection to talk to doctors, order prescriptions, etc. The phone has been disconnecting frequently, doesn't recognize digits entered from the keypad and times out. They also can't seem to cope with the 1/2 sec. delay. I've verified the adapter is connected to the modem properly.

They now have to order land line telephone service, which they did not want to do because of the higher cost. I told them I would see if I could help get the Voice service canceled without penalty.

They do like their HughesNet service, however, and will be keeping that.

Hi Alan,

She can call in to cancel her VOIP service, she just needs to reference this case number, which has instructions from corporate to waive the ETF: 101536552
