Service plan data and Bonus data ??

Is there a  way  on Hughes net gen 5  to limit service plan data  useage DAILY to a user  selected  portion of the service plan  and allow the balance of that day be on BONUS plan? .  My service plan holds up for  15 days and then  its all Bonus plan for the remainder of the month.  I WANT  to do that on a daily basis rather than a monthly bases.  All my other data plans ie Verizon and others all have  user selected limits per device.  I would be happy to just limit the  ENTIRE hughnet service plan  data on reachining that user  daily set  limit.

The only way you can limit your data usage system wide is by using a 3rd party router that has the ability to limit data usage in a daily fashion.  Though I believe most of them can do that, you'd definitely want to verify it before buying any particular model.

Some devices allow data usage to be limited for them, though it will vary by device and operating system.

However, Bonus data can only be used from 2AM to 8AM, so anything you want to use only Bonus Data for will have to be performed within that time period.

I just upgraded the hughnet to gen 5  couple months ago because HN says with that I could identify all the useage via that built in wifi. Now that I have it, it  appears to not be as good as advertised.  I dont see any way to limit data or even identify users as  they said.  Looks like I just put off changing to a verizon hot spot by another two years !!!

They should not have said this, as it's definitely not the case.  You can see how much data you have left for your month, and even how much you've used as a whole by day via the HughesNet Usage Meter and on the MyAccount site, but you can't identify that usage by device or limit it by the same with the HT2000W.

With this said, if your sales call was no more than about three months ago, and you were told that you could do these things during that sales call, you can request a sales call review.  If they see that you were told this, you may have recourse regarding the Early Termination Fee if you wish to cancel.  If you'd like to go this route, I recommend starting a new topic in the "MyAccount and Billing" section, which you can do here, and request that sales call review.  Make sure to specifically state why you are asking for the review, as in what you were incorrectly told. They're very honest with their sales call reviews.
