Speed drop

Speed drop in the last month.  1100 modem, beam 34.  Speeds have dropped from 5 digits download to as low a 1 meg.  Haven't seen decent download or upload speeds in over a month.  It used to be great.  All diagnostics on the modem check OK.  Signal strength is always the same.

Result show good speeds previously. Not so good now with no computer or router changes.

Re: Speed drop

Ricky, yours appears to just be today and may be transient, pbparker is saying his has been bad for over a month. Not sure his and yours are related.

Re: Speed drop

Mine have been bad for a while now. My stats just show today. However they have been bad for a while.

BirdDog, you know I am not into fly by night results.

Re: Speed drop

The stats show back to June 03, the ones in your stats don't look bad that far back. Maybe do some at different times of day.

June 29th shows a 30.35 Mbps.

Upload tests need to be either 1.5 or 2 MB in size.

Re: Speed drop

If it's across the board it may be general oversell/overload.
I have the Ultra plan but I see it's no longer offered at my nearby address location.

Still, once documented, the Engineers may be able to sprinkle some Magic Dust or swap/add servers. Whatever the root cause is ... and that takes troubleshooting as well as persistence.

Re: Speed drop

Hello pbparker,

Thanks for posting and welcome to the community! I'm sorry to hear of your experience. First off can you tell me what website you are using to run tests? I see a few ran on our website with these results:

Just not sure if you your using others as well. These are certainly low for your plan, however if you don't mind heading over to www.testmy.net and also running some that would be great. Run a batch of tests throughout the day. Some morning, afternoon, and night. Use 12 MB manual test size for download and 2 MB manual test size for upload tests. I'll be adding token bandwidth to your account to make up for the data that will be used. Also one computer connected via Ethernet is key as well.

I do not see anything reported recently about your Beam or Gateway. However I am noticing other defining factors in the diagnostics I have run today. In conjunction with your speed test results(if they continue to be low) we can definitely make a case for our engineers to take a look. Hope to hear from you soon.

Thanks.

Re: Speed drop

Again, what Ricky's stats show aren't that bad except for a few today. Only saying he needs to run some at different times of the day.

Some results are significantly higher than "up to" speed.
