status meter update won't install on Vista computer

Every time I start my Vista computer I get a large notice that there is an update that I should install to the status meter, but when I download the update it says it requires Windows 7, 8, or W10 and it wont install on Vista.  How do I get rid of the notice and keep my status meter which must be the old one?????  It works fine. I will not upgrade windows.

Sorry, but Vista, and XP are no longer supported operating systems as of version 6.5.3
Status Meter Change Log

You are going to find, even more programs will refuse to run on Vista in the near future.

flyingtigerkb50,

You may not want to upgrade Windows, but please be aware that you are at considerable risk with Vista.  If you do anything on that computer that contains any personal info at all be prepared to get bitten.
