Does anyone get the point that my router meter rolled over to zero and hughesnet meter refilled to 96% yesterday morning at 7:00?  My glass wire meter started with some usage because it rolled over at midnight and data was used during free time. At 7:00 am I had closed everything except my hughesnet meter.  I watched it drop again from the 96% to the 86% and took screen shots of all 3 meters. The router, no usage, glasswire, 36 MB (it restarted at midnight and I did use the computer during free time), Hughesnet meter, 72MB. (at most is should have read 20 MB because I have 500 MB if the meter refills to 100%.  I had 96%) My point 3 meters and 2 agree.  My router and Glasswire.   Google Chrome: Advanced settings: Continue running background apps when Google Chrome is closed.  Box not checked. When my status meter is full, it says 500 MB.  If i use less that 50% it rolls over to 100%.  If I use more that 50% it goes up 50% plus the left over from the day before. If there is nothing left over, I start the day with 50% which is 250 MB Not sure how to do the McAfee history log.  I will check it out later.  I'm out of time for now.   ... View more

At 7:00 am this morning my status meter refilled to 96% and my router traffic meter rolled over to zero.  I was not on line.  I opened my status meter and watched it drop from my desktop.  I took screen shots of the router, the status meter and glasswire.  I was on line during free time.  You will notice that on glasswire since it starts a midnight.  Notice the date and time are on all of the screen shots.   I left for work at 7:45.  No one has been home today.  I took the next screenshots showing usage while no one was home.   ... I had updates set to 3:00 am for years with no problems.  I turned off all updates.  I have to manually check for them.  I only do that during "free time".  I have live.com email that I have to sign into.  I have Windows live mail 2011 that I receive my hughesnet email on and it does not check without me opening it.  I do not leave my mail accounts or browsers open.   I use Google Chrome as my homepage.  My husband uses Hugesnet.  His computer is never left on if he is not using it.  I do not use microsoft bing.   I have Malwarebytes and I have checked for malware.  I have checked for viruses.   I have only seen a data drain happen a few times.  Most of the time it is after we have gone to bed or when no one is home. ... Same information over and over.  Videos do not run automatically on Facebook and I have a wifi password that is 24 characters long! Iphones do not connect without that password.  Why is there a difference in the MB's used on the Hugesnet meter and Glasswire.  I understand that Glasswire only says what is used on this computer, but still I can't download as fast as it was draining.  I do not have thermostats, refrigerators or tvs that connect to wifi.  Our computer habits have not changed.   ... Just completed my approximate one hour test of using the internet with only this computer connected directly to the modem.  I spent about 25 minutes signing enrolling in our healthcare plan and then surfing...pintrest, facebook, foxnews, cnn, aol, yahoo, checked email...etc... the first 45 minutes it stayed at 44% and then dropped to 38 over the next 15 minutes.  As you will see on my screen shots I am including my hughesnet meter and my glasswire meter.  In the second shot they seem to have caught up with each other.  ... The computer was used off and on this morning.  No browsers are ever left open.  When I returned to the computer it should have been around 80%.  I opened Google Chrome and went straight to Hughenet community to check in.  That is when I noticed I was at 65%.  While I was trying to post a comment it dropped to 46%.  The modem was plugged into the router.  I do have an Iphone that was connected to wifi, again, I was not using the phone.  I never have issues with my cell data getting anywhere near going over.  My phone is not set to get push notifications or update without permission.   As you can see Glasswire said I had used 188.9 MB and my Hughesnet meter said I had used 263.  That leaves 74.1 MB that went somewhere, I believe faster than I can download from Hughsnet on a normal day. I took the screenshot to show the difference.  I have not had the chance to unplug from the router and use my computer for an hour.   I am not using Ad Blocker Pro.  I did go to Google Chrome's advanced settings and uncheck the box that said "continue running background apps when Google Chrome is closed.  But that is not where the 74.1 MB went because it would have shown up on Glasswire.   ... Actually at 7:14 when I disconnected I had only used 2MB and when I turned it back on it was 2MB.  I did not save my screenshot in the right format and was not able to figure out how to get it uploaded.  I did another screenshot later and uploaded it so that you could see my meter.  I will do the next step tomorrow. ... I have had trouble with my data draining.  I installed the glasswire program that shows my usage.  I had to use a restore token last night again.  This morning I had 50%, which should equal 250 MB.  My Glasswire program says 116.7 MB incoming and 9.5 outgoing.  The total is 126.2 MB.  The chart began at 12:00 am and the time now is 5:03 pm. And today when no one was home my data drained.  I do not have updates set. I manually update. I had this problem a few weeks and then suddenly everything was fine.  It has started again. I had to use a token to post this.  The token should have reset me to 50% but it reset to 100%.  Nothing makes sense. ... View more

The computer had been turned off all day.  I restarted it and used it a few minutes before looking at the data meter, ( It was in the 70% range when I turned the computer off this morning)  The meter said 39% and started dropping fast until it reached 20% and I just stopped using it.  It stayed at 20% until my son used it this evening.  He used 5%, leaving 15%.  I just sat down at the computer, checked my email and  then went straight to hughsnet community and it dropped to 10%.  No I have not unplugged my modem and router for 30 minutes, then plug it back in until it stablizes and then add the router.  Are you suggesting this as a one time fix or each time I turn on my computer? ... UGGH!!!  I haven't been on complaining in awhile because everything went back to normal.  2 Iphones connected to wifi when home and our normal computer usage.  Both phones left home this morning and all computers turned off.  All updates stopped unless I check for them manually.  My allowance refilled this morning. I came home and turned on my computer and my data was at 39%.  Turned wifi off my phone and it was dropping while I was sitting at my desk doing nothing on the computer!!! Not sure I completely understand the Check usage on the performance test page.  For the the hours 7:00 am to 9:00 am my glasswire programs said 75 MB used on my computer. My husband used his computer during those hours, browsing the web shopping for tractor parts, no videos. The check usage tab on Hughsnet performance page said:  7:00 to 8:00 Min Used 60, Download in MB 176.9 Upload 2.34 and from 8:00 to 9:00 Min used 60, Download 156.22 and Upload 0.75 This morning refilled to 81%.  Opened IE and then ESPN and immediately dropped to 74 % ...
