On a different note, there are services out there (my parents use grasshopper for their business) that will allow you to add extensions and alternate DNIS's (TO addresses) for a fraction of the cost of two accounts for two separate sets of VOIP equipment so that you can port both lines. I hope this helps! Re: Credit Cards no longer accepted as online, nor automatic, payment. I have seen other members of the community indicate that prepaid cards do not work. I work for a CPA firm and help companies with payroll, so I'm aware thatpayroll cards are most times considered "prepaid" because they don't accept recurring transactions. The way that cards are recognized as prepaid is by the first six digits (the BIN) and perhaps the BIN on your card changed from one to the other, causing the payment method you prefer to reflect as one that is prepaid? If the other card number hadn't changed in 7 years, it wouldn' have fell under the umbrella regulation that prepaid cards use a specific BIN that identifies them as such. Just a thought. Keep in mind that if someone hadn't taken advantage of prepaid cards to get out of paying the company, they would be accepted. I can be certain it is nothing personal, at least. It sounds like they are looking into your service issues so hopefully all will be well! Re: Broken Promises made by Sales Tech for crummy service While it is troubling to think that a salesperson would outright indicate that RTOG (live gaming) would work with a satellite internet service (it will not because "latency" which is time spent delivering the response from another player to you, is too high), I am also thinking that your speeds should be plenty fast enough to do most business related activities after the reduction in speed (e.g., sending and receiving emails, interacting with Oracle or a similar platorm, etc.). Perhaps, the $100 price tag for internet is reflective of your use of the internet? It sounds like they created a residential account for you, so you might want to look into a business account instead? I have heard those have data focused towards daytime hours with anytime data as well. They are more expensive, but then again, your use might simply be exceeding what a residential account from ANY provider is realistically going to cope with. Brittlynn90wrote: My experience with Hughes net has been horrible. I live in a rural area and do not have many choices in internet, I believe Hughesnet Takes advantage of this. When I called Hughesnet and referenced the competition in my area he told me i was making a good decision picking hughesnet instead. he then asked who was gonna use the service and for what. When i said online gaming and school he continued to tell me i would need the "unlimited" plan. Come to find out there is no such thing as an unlimited data plan with this company. come to find out i was sold a small 25 GB plan that runs out every single month, and that the "extra unlimited/ data" was just a peak time extra gb limit from 3am-8am. who in their right adult mind is up using their internet at this time? We work and sleep at this time.. I want good internet when i need it, not when the entire world is asleep and i can't conduct my business not just between 3-8 a.m. Not to mention i was assured all the online games would work during the off peak time.. but they do not work at any time without drastic lag on my end. I'm paying nearly $100.00 a month with the extra tokens i have to buy to just not have snail pace internet the second half of my month. What am i paying for? My internet is crap where I live you can not get any work or play done without wanting to pull your hair out. Can someone change this? get me what i was being "sold" by this sales Tech? or forgive my contract so i can go with the cable company i should have from the begining, that the guy talked me out of reassuring me i was making the right choice by hughesnet.. I disagree...anyone have the same issue and can help??? Re: Taking money before due date Tgilbe8wrote: My bill was not due until 12/8 but the money was taken out of my checking account on 11/28. A week before the bill was due! Not cool! Very angry Go online and look at your invoice so that you can see the actual due date. Companies do not like to receive money before they have earned it as it affects their finances and requires extra reporting steps. Chances are, the due date on the invoice is, in fact, the 28th.
